Allianz Technology seeks a senior Architect to lead the standardization and integration of AI Governance and Runtime components for the Allianz AI Factory. You will define platform architecture, interfaces, and guardrails enabling cost-aware, secure, plug-and-play delivery for multiple squads.

You will curate AI tool landscapes, set platform standards, and drive reference implementations with zero-trust principles, DR, and runbooks while aligning with Security, Risk, Compliance, and Legal

About the Job

You are the key architect for the standardization and integration of the global AI Governance and AI Runtime components of the Allianz AI Factory. In close collaboration with all relevant stakeholders inside and outside Allianz Technology, you define the platform architecture, interfaces, and guardrails that enable teams to plug-and-play with cost, safety, and compliance built in.

You curate the AI tool and framework landscape, decide what becomes Factory standard, ensuring a technically sound, financially responsible, and secure AI platform backbone for delivery teams.

What you do

• Own the reference architecture for the AI Factory platform layer (governance and runtime) across Allianz. Standardize and integrate AI governance and runtime components: policy-as-code, identity/permissioning, model gateways and routing/caching, vector/RAG, prompt management, observability/telemetry, secrets, and data controls.
• Define platform blueprints and APIs that FDE squads and service teams build on; deliver a plug-and-play surface with FinOps and safety guardrails baked in.
• Curate the AI tool and framework landscape: set platform standards, operate sandboxes, and plan deprecation/retirement.
• Design multi-tenant, compliant architectures aligned with Security, CISO, Risk, Compliance, Data Protection, and Legal requirements. Partner with business units, Allianz entities, vendors, and internal tech leaders to align roadmaps, SLAs/SLOs, and operational processes.
• Build reference implementations and guide productionization; ensure reliability, zero-trust principles, disaster recovery, and runbooks. Drive enablement: documentation and patterns.
• Establish model lifecycle governance: evaluation, red teaming, bias/safety testing, provenance, audit, and change management. Optimize cost/performance of inference (caching, batching, compression) and implement usage policies, quotas, and quality controls.

What you bring

• Deep expertise in AI/ML platform architecture and engineering, with hands-on experience designing reference architectures spanning governance, runtime, model gateways, vector/RAG pipelines, and observability at enterprise scale.
• Strong command of AI governance and model lifecycle management, including policy-as-code, red teaming, bias/safety testing, provenance tracking, audit frameworks, and change management processes.
• Proven ability to define and enforce platform standards across a complex technology landscape, including curating tool and framework ecosystems, operating sandboxes, and managing deprecation and retirement cycles.
• Extensive experience in designing multi-tenant, compliant, and secure architectures, with a working knowledge of zero-trust principles, disaster recovery, and alignment with Security, CISO, Risk, Compliance, Data Protection, and Legal requirements.
• Strong FinOps and cost optimization acumen, with the ability to drive inference efficiency (caching, batching, compression) and implement usage policies, quotas, and quality controls that balance performance with financial responsibility.
• Demonstrated ability to partner across organizational boundaries — collaborating with business units, global entities, vendors, and internal tech leaders to align roadmaps, define SLAs/SLOs, and operationalize platform services.
• Passion for enablement and engineering excellence, with a track record of building reference implementations, plug-and-play blueprints, developer documentation, and reusable patterns that accelerate delivery teams.
• Machine learning knowledge is a strong advantage.
