Job summary

SME Careers is seeking a remote, hourly contractor to review and edit AI-generated English content. You will provide precise feedback, identify errors in logic, and offer model revisions to improve accuracy and clarity.

Responsibilities include creating prompts, evaluating responses, and ensuring consistent tone and style across content while working across time zones. Strong English proficiency and detail-oriented editing are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Linguistics, English, Translation/Localization, Communications, Journalism, or related field.
• Expert command of English (C2/native-level preferred) with proficiency at least C1; multilingual ability strongly preferred.
• Strong skills in grammar, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, discourse structure, and stylistic editing across registers.
• Exceptional attention to detail in identifying meaning drift, ambiguity, inconsistencies, and subtle errors; able to explain corrections clearly in writing.
• Comfortable applying style guides and enforcing consistency across varied content types.
• Reliable, self-directed, and able to deliver consistent quality in an hourly, remote contractor workflow across time zones.
• Previous experience with AI data training/annotation, editorial QA, localization QA, or professional copyediting is strongly preferred.
• Hands-on experience using tools like Perplexity, Gemini, ChatGPT and others.

Responsibilities

• Develop AI Training Content: Create detailed prompts and responses to guide AI learning across diverse topics.
• Optimize AI Performance: Evaluate and rank AI responses to improve accuracy, fluency, and contextual relevance.
• Ensure Model Integrity: Test AI models for inaccuracies or biases, validating reliability across use cases.
