Job summary

SME Careers seeks a Catalan Language Specialist for a remote, hourly contractor role to review AI-generated Catalan content and craft high-quality reference material. You will evaluate outputs for accuracy, fluency, grammar, tone, and regional variation, providing precise written feedback.

Develop prompts and gold-standard Catalan answers, rate AI responses, and help improve models across domains. A strong linguistics background and ability to explain corrections in English are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in listed fields or equivalent experience.
• Native or near-native Catalan proficiency with strong reading and writing.
• Strong English proficiency (C1) to provide feedback in English.
• 3+ years in writing, editing, localization, or related language work.
• Deep Catalan grammar and style knowledge with ability to explain fixes.
• Experience with multiple registers including regional Catalan variations.
• Detail-oriented, reliable, and able to work remotely across time zones.
• Prior AI data training/QA experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop AI Training Content: Create prompts and gold-standard Catalan answers across domains.
• Optimize AI Performance: Evaluate and rank outputs for fluency, tone, and accuracy.
• Ensure Model Integrity: Detect unsafe content, factual hallucinations, bias, mistranslations.
