Visium seeks an AI Engineering Director to lead strategic AI and data programs across key enterprise accounts, interfacing with senior clients and ensuring successful delivery of high-impact engagements.

You will drive account growth, oversee complex AI transformations, and advise senior stakeholders across R&D, Digital, and Innovation. The role combines AI depth with consulting delivery, leadership, and ownership.

Role

As an AI Engineering Director, you will lead strategic AI and data programs across key enterprise accounts, acting as the senior client interface and ensuring successful delivery of high-impact engagements.

Your mission is to drive account growth, oversee complex AI transformations, and serve as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders across R&D, Digital, Innovation, and executive teams.

You will combine AI technical depth with consulting delivery experience, client-facing leadership, and commercial ownership to deliver sustained client value and business expansion.

You will also contribute to talent development and help shape the strategy and growth of Visium’s AI offering, with a focus on Life Sciences and Specialty Chemicals clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and grow strategic accounts across key Specialty Chemicals players, identifying opportunities to expand engagement scope and convert pipeline into long-term partnerships.
• Support both existing account growth and new business development by contributing to presales, upselling, account expansion, and opening new client relationships.
• Own and steer the delivery of complex, multi-stream AI and data programs, ensuring technical excellence, business alignment, and measurable impact.
• Act as executive sponsor and trusted advisor to senior stakeholders (including C-Level), building deep, long-term relationships across R&D, Digital, and Innovation teams.
• Provide hands-on technical and strategic guidance to delivery teams, ensuring high-quality execution, resolving blockers, and safeguarding outcomes.
• Guide the delivery of AI solutions across applied machine learning, GenAI systems, LLM-based applications, AI agents, MLOps, model deployment, evaluation, monitoring, and production AI workflows.
• Mentor and develop consultants and engineers, fostering a high-performance culture and supporting career growth in collaboration with the People function.
• Contribute to the evolution of the Specialty Chemicals strategy, including hiring decisions, thought leadership, and shaping the firm’s positioning in the market.

To succeed in this role, you bring a combination of expertise, experience, and skills including:

• Strong academic background in Data Science, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience leading end-to-end AI or data transformation programs in complex enterprise environments.
• Strong technical credibility with hands-on understanding of AI/ML systems and delivery at scale.
• Deep technical expertise across modern AI engineering, including applied machine learning, GenAI systems, LLM-based applications, AI agents, MLOps, model deployment, evaluation, monitoring, and production AI workflows.
• Experience delivering AI and data use cases end-to-end on enterprise platforms, translating complex business problems into scalable technical solutions.
• Proven experience delivering large-scale technical programs in a consulting or client-facing environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work directly with senior client stakeholders, including C-Level, R&D, Digital, Innovation, and technical leadership.
• Strong track record in commercial growth, including presales, upselling, account expansion, new business development, or identifying new client opportunities.
• Proven leadership experience in hiring, mentoring, and developing high-performing AI, data science, or engineering teams.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex AI topics and drive decision-making at senior levels.
• Experience in Life Sciences and/or Specialty Chemicals is a strong plus, especially in AI, data, R&D, Digital, Innovation, or enterprise transformation use cases. However, deep industry expertise is not mandatory.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong bias for ownership, impact, and building new opportunities.
• Fluency in English required; French and/or German are a plus.
