Sateliot in Barcelona is seeking an AI Engineer to build and integrate AI services into enterprise-grade solutions, prioritizing robust architecture and long-term maintainability. This is a hands-on role with ownership, not a project-management position.

You will work with public model APIs, connect services end to end, and improve internal processes. Fluent English and a documentation-first mindset are essential, with hybrid work and opportunities to influence Sateliot's AI roadmap.

• Solid software engineering background with infrastructure/platform/backend/DevOps experience.
• Proven experience integrating third-party APIs and services into production systems with auth/webhooks/retries/monitoring.
• Hands-on experience with public AI model APIs (OpenAI/Anthropic/Claude/Gemini) and AI tools for image/video generation.
• Strong programming skills in Python and/or TypeScript/Node.js.
• Architecture mindset focused on durable, well-designed systems.
• Documentation-first approach and ability to own delivery end to end.
• Fluent English communication.

About The Team & This Role

Sateliot is building its AI capability from the ground up. This is an early role on a team that is still taking shape, which means real ownership and the chance to influence how we build, ship and operate AI at Sateliot, rather than inheriting someone else's playbook.

This is not a role about training models, it's about building with them. As our AI Engineer, you take the AI use cases prioritized on the company roadmap and turn them into robust, production-grade solutions: integrations between services, internal tools, automations, agents and skills that make Sateliot's processes measurably better. It's a hands-on, purely technical position: project management is not part of the job, so your focus stays entirely on designing, building, integrating and maintaining.

We're looking for a software engineer at heart ideally with an infrastructure or platform background who has moved into building and integrating AI services into enterprise-grade corporate solutions, and who cares about solid architecture rather than duct-tape fixes

What you'll do

• Build on top of AI services: develop solutions using public model APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic/Claude, Google Gemini and similar) and AI tools for image, video and content generation.
• Connect services end to end: design and implement the glue between AI services and our internal systems, APIs, webhooks, data flows, automations, agents and skills. Not necessarily web apps: whatever shape best solves each use case.
• Engineer for the long run: apply sound architecture and design patterns so everything you ship is reliable, secure, observable and easy to maintain and extend.
• Deliver the roadmap: implement the use cases prioritized on the company roadmap, taking them from first prototype to real production, and maintain them over time.
• Improve how Sateliot works: use AI to streamline and automate processes across the company.
• Document what you build: keep clear technical and product documentation so knowledge lives in the team, not in one person's head.
• Keep learning: stay on top of the fast-moving AI ecosystem, new models, APIs, agent frameworks, multimodal tools, so you can identify and apply the latest tooling wherever it genuinely improves our solutions.

What you bring

• A solid software engineering background, ideally from infrastructure, platform, backend or DevOps roles.
• Proven experience integrating third-party APIs and services into production systems: authentication, webhooks, rate limits, retries, error handling and monitoring; the un-glamorous parts done right.
• Hands-on experience with public AI model APIs (e.g. OpenAI, Anthropic/Claude, Gemini), AI coding tools and agents (e.g. Codex, Claude Code), and AI generation tools for image and video.
• Strong programming skills (Python and/or TypeScript/Node.js or similar).
• An architecture mindset: you follow good design patterns and build systems meant to last, not one-off scripts.
• A pragmatic, documentation-first way of working and the autonomy to own delivery end to end.
• Fluent level of English.

Bonus if you have

• Experience building agents, RAG pipelines or AI-powered automations (function/tool calling, MCP, LangChain or similar, or workflow platforms like n8n, Make or Zapier).
• Cloud and infrastructure experience (AWS, GCP or Azure; Docker/Kubernetes; CI/CD; infrastructure as code).
• Experience with observability, evaluation and cost control of LLM-based systems.
• Genuine curiosity about space, connectivity or IoT.
