GE Renewable Energy in Barcelona seeks an SVO Engineer to optimize system value, deliver loads and cosims, and prepare certification documentation. You will support method development and build the loads toolchain for robust wind turbine designs.

Responsibilities include performing feasibility studies, updating load envelopes, and helping address certification questions. A BS in engineering and strong communication skills are required.

Formación

  • B.S. in Mechanical, Wind, Systems, or Aerospace Engineering from accredited university.
  • Master of Mechanical, Wind, Systems, or Aerospace Engineering desired.
  • Strong communication and problem solving abilities to defend technical positions.

Responsabilidades

  • Perform system value optimization and tradeoffs for loads, stability and performance.
  • Deliver NP I/DTO loads, create simulation models, run loads simulations and post-process.
  • Prepare certification load packages and respond to certification bodies.
  • Deliver cosims for validation activities of prototypes and fleet.
  • Develop load methods and update standard work and DFMEA as needed.
  • Develop loads tool chain and improve pre/post processing tools.
  • Support design reviews and risk mitigation strategies; assist lean initiatives.

Job Description Summary

The vision of the SVO- New Products team is to create robust but cost-effective wind turbine product designs by providing best-in-class system value optimization, load assessment, validation, methods, and tools.

As a SVO engineer, you will perform system value optimization work, deliver loads and cosims, prepare certification documentation, support method/standard work development, and develop the loads toolchain.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Perform system value optimization
    • Help perform system value optimization work, making tradeoffs in the loads, stability, operation, and performance of the product
    • Help perform feasibility studies and develop tech charts
  • Deliver NPI/DTO loads
    • Prepare loads inputs, create the simulation model, execute loads simulations, and perform post processing
    • Perform basic operability checks and frequency domain stability checks
    • Hand off model and controller parameters to MLA
    • Update load envelopes
  • Prepare load certification docs
    • Prepare certification load packages and documentation
    • Help address questions from certification bodies
  • Deliver cosims
    • Prepare co-simulation for validation activities for prototype and fleet leader validation
    • Help resolve gaps seen between simulations and field measurement.
  • Develop methods and standard work
    • Help develop advancements in load methods
    • Help develop DP and standard work updates
  • Develop loads tool chain
    • Help develop improvements to the pre and post processing toolchain (excludes One Wind tools)
  • Overarching
    • Help prepare design reviews
    • Help prepare technical underwriting documents to support design reviews
    • Help assess risk and develop mitigation strategies
    • Help update loads DFMEA
    • Support lean and industrialization initiatives

Qualification/Requirements

  • B.S. in Mechanical, Wind, Systems, or Aerospace Engineering from accredited university (or equivalent)

  • Completion of Corporate required training for the Edison Engineering Development Program
