Job summary

ROVI Pharmaceutical Company in Madrid is seeking an experienced Finance & Accounting professional to join our team as a Senior Accountant. You will support IFRS-compliant financial booking, reconciliations, period-end close, intercompany processes, and journal entries to ensure the general ledger accurately reflects the business.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Finance & Accounting and more than 5 years of hands-on experience.

Qualifications

• More than 5 years of experience in finance & accounting roles.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial controls.
• Experience with ERP systems and month-end close processes.

Responsibilities

• Support IFRS-compliant financial booking and regulatory compliance.
• Manage reconciliations and adjustments to keep ledgers accurate.
• Assist period-end close including AR/AP subledgers and general ledger consolidation.
• Support Intercompany reconciliation and fix variances.
• Perform Year End Closing activities and asset accounting tasks.
• Leverage ERP expertise to streamline accounting processes.
• Maintain chart of accounts and hierarchies reflecting business structure.
• Collaborate with local teams to ensure proper accounting and reporting.
• Prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of policies and templates.
• Ensure internal controls are followed for all processes.

What do we do?

We are a Spanish pharmaceutical company engaged in the research and development, manufacturing and marketing of small molecules and biological medical products.

We likewise use our sales channels to market a number of licensed pharmaceutical products, imaging contrast agents and other products for hospital use, as well as OTC pharmaceuticals.

All of this is carried out through our specialized sales team formed by more than 260 people who promote the products with specialized medical professionals and in hospitals and pharmacies.

What will you do?

• Supporting financial booking activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and the company regulations.
• Managing reconciliations and adjustments, to maintain accurate financial records.
• Supporting period end close activities, including closing the accounts receivable/payable subledger and reconciling with the general ledger; closing the general ledger, opening new financial periods, and closing Asset Accounting (AA).
• Supporting the Intercompany reconciliation process and fixing variances.
• Performing technical Year End Closing activities such as balance carry forward, number range creations, and closing AA.
• Utilizing advanced knowledge of ERP systems to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
• Maintaining and updating the chart of accounts and hierarchies, ensuring it reflects the current business structure and reporting requirements.
• Collaborating closely with local Teams in countries and other departments to ensure all financial transactions are properly accounted for and reflected in the general ledger.
• Preparing journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Contributing to the continuous improvement, leveraging technology and best practices; maintaining policies, procedures, and templates.
• Ensuring financial internal controls are in place and followed for the processes performed by this role.
