The Game Kitchen in Seville (Spain) is seeking a 2D Pixel Artist at Mid – Senior level. A strong portfolio of production-quality pixel art for shipped games is required, with at least 3 years of professional pixel art experience.

You will collaborate with design and programming teams, following the art director’s guidelines and adapting work to project needs. Remote work is available, with a preference for candidates in or near Seville.

Qualifikationen

• 3+ years of professional experience as a pixel artist in video game development.
• Participation in the artistic design of at least one shipped/commercial game.
• Portfolio of production-quality pixel art for shipped games is highly valued.
• Knowledge of the artistic pipeline of a videogame project.
• Ability to implement and adapt feedback.
• Good teamwork in artistic creation.
• Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop and/or Aseprite.

2D Pixel Artist Mid – Senior Level

We are looking for a 2D Pixel Artist Mid – Senior Level to join our team.

A 2D pixel art portfolio is required in order to evaluate the application.

Responsibilities

• Creation of art, elements/props, characters, scenery, tiles, parallax elements, etc.
• Work collaboratively with the rest of the art team and other departments, such as design and programming.
• Adapt and contribute work to the art director’s guidelines.
• Be able to adapt and optimize the creations based on the needs of the project.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of professional experience in video game development as a pixel artist.
• Have participated in the artistic design of at least one video game previously.
• Portfolio showcasing production-quality pixel art created for shipped or commercially released games is highly valued.
• Knowledge of the artistic pipeline of a videogame project.
• Ability to implement and adapt feedback.
• Good teamwork in artistic creation.
• Adobe Photoshop and/or Aseprite.

Preferred Qualifications

• Creation of concept art, sketches and preliminary work of environments.
• Be able to work with agile methodologies.
• Knowledge of the basic elements of level design and its relation with art.
• English, minimum B1 (desirable B2 or higher).

Additional information

Type of contract:

Long term position. 40 hours/week contract.

From 36k euros gross annual salary, commensurate with experience.

We are based in Tenerife and Seville. For this role, we have a preference for candidates located in or able to work from our Seville office, though remote work is also available.

You might be required to attend up to 2 per-team and 2 company-wide team-building activities each year, travel and accommodation provided by the company.
