Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP) invites applications for a Data Manager/REDCap specialist to support our Biostatistics Unit on Campus Can Ruti.

The role focuses on REDCap database development, data management and QA, reporting, data security, and user training. You will collaborate with investigators, statisticians and project managers to ensure high-quality, compliant data for biomedical research.

Formación

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Management, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Public Health, Health Informatics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience developing and managing databases using REDCap.
• At least 3 years of experience in data cleaning, validation, quality assurance, and database documentation.
• Strong proficiency in R for data management; experience with Stata, SAS, SPSS, SQL, or Python would be asset.
• Proficiency in English.

• Data Management and Quality Assurance: Ensure data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and quality through validation checks, data cleaning, and documented data-management procedures.
• Data Extraction, Reporting, and Analysis Support: Prepare, extract, and document high-quality datasets and reports to support statistical analysis, monitoring, and research activities.
• Data Security and Compliance: Ensure appropriate data access, confidentiality, security, and compliance with institutional policies and applicable data-protection requirements.
• Training and User Support: Provide training, guidance, and technical support to research teams on REDCap usage.
• Project Coordination: Collaborate with investigators, statisticians, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient implementation and management of research data systems.

The Biostatistics Unit at the Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP) provides a full range of statistical services to IGTP campus researchers and external public andprivate organisations. We support researchers throughout the entire research process,from study design and planning to data analysis and interpretation of results. Ourmission is to improve the quality and rigour of biomedical research by providing expertbiostatistical guidance. Our team consists of six highly qualified statisticians andmathematicians with extensive experience in health research.

Main Responsibilities

• REDCap Database Development and Administration: Design, develop,maintain, and administer REDCap databases and data collection toolsaccording to study and project requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Management, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Public Health, Health Informatics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience developing and managing databases using REDCap.
• At least 3 years of experience in data cleaning, validation, quality assurance, and database documentation.
• Strong proficiency in R for data management; experience with additional statistical or programming software such as Stata, SAS, SPSS, SQL, or Python would be considered an asset.
• Proficiency in English.
• Strong interpersonal skills, adaptability, and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
• Knowledge of relevant regulatory guidelines, such as ICH-GCP, would be considered an asset.

About Us

The Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP) is a public research centre located in Badalona. Its main objective is to increase scientific knowledge in order to transform it into solutions to improve the health and medical care of patients and the community.

The Institute is associated with one of the major university hospitals in the Barcelona area, the Germans Trias i Pujol Hospital, and is part of the Can Ruti biomedical campus. IGTP is a CERCA centre and is also accredited as a centre of excellence by the Instituto de Salud Carlos III (ISCIII) and is in charge of coordinating the management and scientific strategy of the campus, working in close collaboration with the other centres.
