Job summary

Zealand Pharma A/S, a biotechnology company focused on obesity and metabolic health, seeks a strategic Project Vice President, Portfolio Management to design and lead the end-to-end portfolio process across R&D. You will provide objective data and trusted analyses to governance and lead cross-functional due diligence on external opportunities.

You will build analytics, scenarios, and dashboards to translate strategy into transparent portfolio choices and drive data-driven investment decisions.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in portfolio management within pharma/biotech.
• Proven track record in designing and implementing portfolio processes and decision-support systems.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills including portfolio valuation, risk assessment, and scenario modeling.
• Proven experience leading cross-functional due diligence and translating assessments into recommendations.
• Deep understanding of the drug development lifecycle and stage-gate governance.
• Advanced degree in life sciences.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain the portfolio management process for R&D Governance.
• Lead cross-functional due diligence on external development opportunities.
• Develop analytics, criteria, and scenario models to inform go/no-go and investment decisions.
• Deliver integrated portfolio views for toll gate and prioritization discussions.
• Build tools, dashboards, and reporting for leadership on portfolio progress, resources, and risk.
• Lead portfolio reviews and long-range planning cycles.
