Job summary

TotalEnergies OneTech in Copenhagen is seeking a Maritime Decarbonization Engineer to join the Energy & Fleet Transition Department. You will contribute to high-impact projects supporting the decarbonization of global maritime transport, working with experts across international organizations.

You will analyze low-carbon fuels, evaluate fuel technologies, and translate findings into recommendations and roadmaps while collaborating with MMMCZCS and strategic partners.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree or Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge of fuel production technologies, refining processes, combustion systems or fuel characterization is appreciated.
  • Interest in maritime transportation, energy transition and low-carbon technologies.
  • Ability to operate in an international, research-oriented environment and contribute to collaborative projects involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Center's low-carbon fuels activities by contributing to the assessment of biofuels and e-fuels for maritime applications.
  • Analyze technical and industrial barriers related to the production and deployment of low-carbon marine fuels.
  • Contribute to projects focused on vessel performance, energy efficiency and ship design evolution to reduce fuel consumption and facilitate the adoption of alternative fuels.
  • Provide technical insights and analytical support to strategic partners and various TotalEnergies entities on maritime decarbonization topics.
  • Translate technical findings into actionable recommendations, business models and development roadmaps.
  • Prepare analyses, presentations and reports for project reviews and stakeholder discussions.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary project teams and interact with experts across the maritime value chain.

Context
The Maersk McKinney Moller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping (MMMCZCS) is an independent research and development center based in Copenhagen, dedicated to accelerating the transition toward a net-zero future for the maritime industry. TotalEnergies has been one of the Center's strategic partners since 2021.

As a Maritime Decarbonization Engineer, you will join the Energy & Fleet Transition Department and contribute to high-impact projects supporting the decarbonization of global maritime transport. Working alongside experts from diverse backgrounds and international organizations, you will help address key technological and industrial challenges shaping the future of shipping.

Main Responsibilities

  • Support the Center's low-carbon fuels activities by contributing to the assessment of biofuels and e-fuels for maritime applications.
  • Analyze technical and industrial barriers related to the production and deployment of low-carbon marine fuels.

Candidate Profile
Expected qualifications:

  • Master's degree or Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or a related discipline.
