Job summary

The LEGO Group in Billund or Copenhagen seeks a globally minded Vice President of Strategy & Transformation to shape long-term direction and lead a high‑performing team dedicated to protecting and strengthening the brand. Reporting to the CFO, you will translate strategic priorities into meaningful business impact across the value chain and partner with the Executive Leadership Team on complex challenges.

The hybrid policy requires about three days in the office weekly, enabling collaboration

Qualifications

  • MBA or master’s degree in economics, finance or similar from top tier university.
  • Deep experience from a leading global management consultancy.
  • Experience in an internal strategy department or line function within FMCG and/or Retail.
  • Experienced people leader with a proven track record of leading, motivating, and developing diverse and high performing talents.
  • Executive level communication skills, an open mind and ability work across many markets and organisational levels.
  • A strategic mind-set with outstanding quantitative and analytical skills to extract insights from complex problems.
  • Ability to balance abstract strategy with operational details to meet targets and development criteria.
  • Ability to lead a broad and global agenda while prioritising multiple tasks in a changing environment.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

  • Be recognised as a strategic advisor and credible partner to our CFO and Executive Leadership Team.
  • Lead the development and execution of the company’s strategic agenda and organisational development initiatives.
  • Lead projects including scoping, analysis and development of recommendations, independently or with partners/consultants.
  • Coordinate a large network of internal partners across cross-organisational projects with project and change management focus.
  • Oversee and report on all projects across the LEGO Group and contribute to yearly planning.
  • Provide direction and development to your direct reports to keep them motivated and engaged.

The LEGO Group is looking for a globally minded, strategic executive leader to work closely with our Executive Leadership Team to shape and implement our long-term strategy.

As Vice President of Strategy & Transformation, you will have a unique opportunity to join one of the world’s most iconic toy brands, applying your strategic expertise to address complex business challenges, shape the LEGO Group’s long-term direction, and lead a high-performing team dedicated to protecting and strengthening the brand for the future.

Based in either Billund or Copenhagen, you will lead the LEGO Group’s Strategy & Transformation function—our central hub for strategic thinking and business transformation. You will oversee a team of approximately 40 talented professionals across strategy development, business development, project and change management, and programme management. Reporting into the CFO, you will work across the organisation and throughout the entire value chain, you will play a key role in translating strategic priorities into meaningful, sustainable business impact.

Core responsibilities:

In this role you will act as a trusted advisor and sparring partner to our CFO and Executive Leadership Team with the focus on developing and executing the company’s strategic agenda and organisational development initiatives.

  • In doing so, you will:

    • Be recognised as a strategic advisor and credible partner to our most senior leaders

    • Bring synthesised data and insights to the table to provoke and help shape long term thinking and direction setting

    • Lead critical projects including scoping, analysis and development of recommendations, independently or in close collaboration with internal partners and/or external consultants

    • Lead a large network of internal partners involved in cross-organisational projects– both with project management as well as change management focus

    • Oversee and report on all projects across the LEGO Group and be a central part of the yearly planning

    • Provide direction and development to your direct reports to ensure they are motivated and engaged

Do you have what it takes?
  • Hold an MBA or a master´s degree in economics, finance or similar from top tier university with excellent results

  • Deep experience from a leading global management consultancy

  • Experience in an internal strategy department or line function within FMCG and/or Retail

  • Experienced people leader with a proven track record of leading, motivating, and developing diverse and high performing talents

  • Executive level communication skills, an open mind and ability work across many markets and organisational levels

  • A strategic mind-set coupled with outstanding quantitative and analytical skills that allow you to extract logic, insights and meaningful conclusions from complex business problems

  • Easily shift between abstract strategic discussions and operational details to be able to deliver on your targets and development criteria

  • Ability to lead a broad and global agenda, with an ability to prioritise numerous tasks and responsibilities simultaneously in an ever-changing environment

  • An ability to navigate in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment

  • Proficient in English both written and spoken
