Urban Partners is seeking a BI & Data Platform Manager to own the Microsoft Fabric data platform. You will lead a small team of internal data engineers and external consultants, turning reporting needs into reliable data deliveries and production releases.
You will drive technical direction, coordinate with data management and reporting teams, and ensure smooth operations with partners across borders. Based in Copenhagen, the role is hands-on and management-focused.
Europe’s cities need more housing, better infrastructure and lower energy use. These are the challenges Urban Partners seeks to find concrete solutions for. Since 2005, the company has invested in, developed and managed real estate and infrastructure in more than 15 European cities.
Today, Urban Partners manages assets of more than EUR 25 billion. The ambition goes beyond financial returns and includes pursuing sustainability in the built environment and halving embodied emissions in new buildings between 2022 and 2030.
Headquartered in Copenhagen, and with offices in eight countries across Northern Europe, Urban Partners brings together more than 600 specialists in investment, real estate and finance. Investment decisions, fund reporting and ESG all rely on data, making Data & BI central to the business.
Urban Partners is looking for a BI & Data Platform Manager to take ownership of the company’s Microsoft Fabric data platform. You will lead a small team of internal data engineers, a pool of external consultants, and external vendors, directing and bringing them together to deliver on shared priorities.
You will be a hands-on technical leader who understands the full journey from data integration to semantic models, reporting and analytics. You will set technical direction, challenge solutions and help resolve technical issues alongside the team.
A central part of the role is turning new reporting needs into prioritised data deliveries and release packages.
Working closely with reporting teams, Data Management, data engineers and external partners, you will ensure a continuous flow from business needs to reliable data in production. Data Management owns data definitions and specifications; you are responsible for turning these into technical deliveries and bringing them safely into production.
You will report to the Head of Data & BI. The position is full-time and based in Copenhagen.
Taking overall responsibility for operating and developing the Microsoft Fabric data platform
Leading and developing the team of data engineers and consultants
Translating reporting needs and Data Management specifications into prioritised data deliveries and release packages
Coordinating reporting teams, Data Management, engineers and external partners to maintain a continuous delivery flow
Ensuring stable operations and safe releases through monitoring, troubleshooting and release management
Providing technical direction, reviewing solutions and contributing to hands-on problem-solving
Managing external vendors and partners
Continuously improving processes, automation and cost efficiency
Aligning priorities and expectations with the business and coordinating requests and support
You have a solid technical background in data platforms and BI, combined with experience leading people and vendors. You stay close to the technology and can connect platform decisions with the needs of reporting and analytics.
You are comfortable in leading the team, owning the platform operations and staying hands-on with Fabric and BI - turning reporting needs into reliable data releases, from integration and semantic models to Power BI.
You communicate clearly, create direction and get things done. You thrive with responsibility for a platform the whole business uses every day, and you live within commuting distance of the office in Nordhavn, where you work at least four days a week.
We expect you to bring most of the following qualifications and qualities:
Practical experience building, running and improving solutions in Microsoft Fabric or a comparable platform such as Databricks or Snowflake
Solid BI experience, including Power BI, semantic models and reporting
An understanding of the full data journey, from integration and transformation to reporting and analytics
Experience translating business and reporting needs into technical deliveries and taking changes safely from development to production
The technical depth to review designs, challenge implementation choices and help troubleshoot issues
Experience managing vendors, also across borders
Team leadership experience
Clear and calm in your communication
Structured and decisive
Persistent and delivery-focused
Collaborative and trustworthy
You will take on a central role in an international investment company where data underpins the decisions that shape the cities of the future. You will help shape how the platform is run and developed, stay close to the technology and join an organisation that values expertise, trust and professional development.
Occasional visits to colleagues in offices abroad are a natural part of the collaboration. The position comes with an attractive compensation package, including a bonus, pension and six weeks of holiday. The start date is preferably January 2027.
