Job summary

Københavns Universitet seeks an Expert Technical Assistant for Transgenic Services within the Transgenic Core Facility of the Animal Core Facility, Center for Core Facilities. The role starts 1 December 2026, with duties spanning embryo culture, GM mouse colony management, and molecular biology support.

You will advise users, contribute to new techniques, and maintain databases for benchmarking. A weekend-per-month commitment is expected. Apply by 30 September 2026.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English (oral and written).
• Solid understanding of genome-editing technologies, esp. CRISPR/Cas9.
• Proven hands-on experience with molecular biology, mouse embryo handling and cryopreservation techniques.
• Extensive user-level experience on database management and Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Embryo harvesting, culture and transfer to recipient females.
• Mouse line archiving and GM mouse colony management.
• Support the microinjection area: DNA/RNA and ESC injection in mouse embryos.
• Support the molecular biology area: gene editing and genotyping strategies.
• Advise facility users on scientific projects and results.
• Contribute to technical development and implementation of new transgenic techniques.
• Data recording and establishment of databases for benchmarking of services.
