Job summary

Cobham Satcom is seeking a driven Test & Validation Lead to elevate our testing capabilities as we expand into new markets. You will combine hands-on software and system-level testing with shaping our test strategy, tooling, and environments.

You will coordinate testing activities across teams, drive automation and broader quality initiatives, and ensure new software releases are thoroughly validated with product architects, hardware engineers, and developers.

Qualifications

• A degree in software development or computer engineering or a related field.
• Experience setting up and maintaining test environments.
• Experience working with HIL setups, embedded software, and Linux-based systems.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity principles for embedded or connected systems.
• ISTQB certifications and experience from regulated industries are strong advantages.

Job description

We are looking for a driven Test & Validation Lead to join our team and help take our testing capabilities to the next level. As we expand into new markets, we need to modernize and strengthen our test and validation processes and tools to ensure our products continue to meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.

In this role, you will combine hands-on software and system-level testing activities with responsibility for evolving our test and validation strategy, tooling, and environments. You will play a key role in defining and implementing improvements to our testing setup, driving greater test coverage, automation, and quality across the organization.

To support this journey, you will help coordinate and mature our testing activities, contributing to improved ways of working, stronger test practices, and increased quality across the organization.

As our Test & Validation Lead, you will play a key role in ensuring new software releases are thoroughly validated at both the software and system level. You will join the software organization and work closely with product architects, hardware engineers, and software developers, giving you a comprehensive view of our products and their performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Who You Are (ideally):

• A degree in software development, computer engineering, or a related field.
• Experience setting up and maintaining test environments.
• Experience working with HIL setups, embedded software, and Linux-based systems.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity principles for embedded or connected systems.
• Attention to detail and a natural curiosity when exploring new technologies.
• Formal qualifications within testing (e.g. ISTQB certifications) and experience from regulated industries are considered strong advantages.
