Job summary

The School of Communication and Culture at Aarhus University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor or tenured associate professor in French and Francophone communication, based in the Department of German and Romance Languages. The position begins on 1 January 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter.

The appointee will teach bachelor’s and master’s courses in Francophone and international communication in French, engage in research across language, culture and society,

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in Francophone and intercultural communication, with teaching and research experience.
• Native or near-native command of French.
• Teaching experience at university level using innovative methods.
• Experience with knowledge exchange and external funding applications.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and master's courses in Francophone and international communication in French, and related areas.
• Supervise bachelor’s and master’s theses and contribute to curriculum development.
• Engage in research, publish in peer-reviewed venues, and apply for external funding.
• Engage in knowledge exchange with partners inside and outside Aarhus University.
