Job summary

Tessero is seeking a highly experienced Commissioning Engineer with a strong background in Protection & Control systems for HV/MV substations. The role is site-oriented, focusing on testing, configuration and commissioning of protection and control systems rather than primary high-voltage equipment.

You will perform relay testing, configure IEDs and carry out P&C testing in control cabinets, while collaborating with engineering, project and site teams across LV, MV and HV systems.

Qualifications

• Hands-on commissioning experience in HV/MV substations.
• Strong relay testing and protection system knowledge.
• Experience configuring and testing protection relays.
• Familiar with substation protection schemes and control cabinets.
• Proficient with Omicron test equipment and PCM600 or similar.

Responsibilities

• Execute commissioning and testing activities within HV/MV substation projects

Assignment

One of our clients is looking for a highly experienced Commissioning Engineer with a strong background in Protection & Control systems and hands‑on commissioning activities within HV/MV substation environments.

The assignment is site-oriented and requires a technically strong specialist who is comfortable working directly in substation and control cabinet environments. The focus is on testing, configuration and commissioning of protection and control systems rather than primary high-voltage equipment testing.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute commissioning and testing activities within HV/MV substation projects
• Perform relay testing and protection system verification
• Configure and test protection relays and Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs)
• Carry out Protection & Control (P&C) testing within control cabinets
• Support commissioning activities across LV, MV and HV systems
• Ensure all testing and commissioning activities are completed according to project and safety requirements
• Collaborate with engineering, project and site teams throughout commissioning phases

Required Experience

• Proven hands‑on experience with commissioning of HV/MV substations
• Strong experience with relay testing and protection systems
• Experience with Protection & Control (P&C) testing
• Experience configuring and/or testing protection relays
• Familiarity with substation control cabinets and protection schemes
• Experience using tools such as:
• Omicron test equipment
• PCM600 or equivalent relay configuration software
• Understanding of commissioning activities across LV, MV and HV systems
