Supply Chain Professional

Are you ready to play a pivotal role in getting life-saving medicines to patients around the world? In this role, you will plan and drive the clinical supply chain for your own trials - balancing forecasting, inventory, and stakeholder coordination to ensure that every trial runs smoothly and every patient receives what they need, when they need it.

Your new role

As a Supply Chain Professional in Clinical Supplies, you will take ownership of planning and executing supply chain activities that directly support clinical trials across the Novo Nordisk portfolio, including investigator-sponsored studies and Novo Nordisk sponsored studies. Working at the intersection of suppliers, logistics partners, and internal teams, you will turn complex demand signals into reliable supply - and help shape how we do it even better tomorrow.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and maintaining supply chain plans, demand forecasts, and distribution schedules aligned with clinical trial timelines and business needs
  • Monitoring inventory levels across the supply network to ensure optimal stock availability, minimize wastage, and balance supply with demand
  • Coordinating with external partners - including RTSM/IWRS vendors, contract manufacturing organizations, local depots, and planning platforms - to manage lead times and resolve potential delays before they impact trials
  • Making sure shipment and supply documentation meets import, export and customs requirements, working closely with our logistics and trade compliance colleagues
  • Using our digital planning tools to keep supply data accurate and transparent, and contributing to the continuous improvement of how we work
  • Contributing to cross-functional improvement initiatives and taking ownership of designated process areas that support operational excellence across the team
  • Working with a quality mindset in a GxP-regulated environment, where documentation, traceability and right-first-time execution are part of every task
Your new department

In Global Manufacturing & Supply, we cover the full value chain from drug and device development to marketed Novo Nordisk products. We are more than 30,000 colleagues across the globe with the shared responsibility of scaling molecules, processes, devices, and products, dedicated to supplying life-saving medicines to the patients who need them most.

Within this area, Clinical Supplies is responsible for ensuring that investigational products reach trial sites reliably and on time. You will join Supply Planning, ISS and Internal Studies, a team of supply chain planners who work closely with internal stakeholders across CMC Development and Quality Assurance, as well as external vendors and manufacturing partners. The team operates with a high degree of autonomy in day-to-day planning while continuously pursuing smarter, more efficient ways to manage the clinical supply chain.

Your skills & qualifications

We are looking for someone who thrives on keeping complex supply chains running smoothly and who brings both analytical rigour and a collaborative mindset.

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field with 3-4 years of relevant supply chain experience - or a Master's degree (or PhD) with 0-2 years of relevant experience
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets - including inventory levels and key performance metrics - to drive informed decisions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to coordinate effectively with suppliers, vendors, and cross-functional teams across geographies
  • Fluency in written and spoken English; Danish is not a requirement
  • A proactive problem-solving approach, with the confidence to identify inefficiencies and implement solutions that improve operational performance
  • Comfortable working in several IT systems side by side in daily operations, and experience with process optimization or LEAN is an advantage
  • Familiarity with demand forecasting, inventory optimization, supply chain management software, and regulatory compliance related to import/export and customs - experience with clinical trial supply is an advantage
