Job summary

The Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI) invites applications for a Student Assistant in the National Centre for Climate Research (NCKF) – Satellites and the Arctic. You will support researchers by implementing processing jobs, monitoring production pipelines, and assisting with data quality checks.

Work fits around studies, averaging 10–15 hours per week in Copenhagen. You should know Linux, Python and Git, and have an interest in remote sensing and geophysics; teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• Proficient with a computer and comfortable in a Linux environment.
• Experience programming in Python and working with Git.
• Insight into statistical methods and handling large data sets.
• Interest in remote sensing and geophysics.
• Collaborative mindset to join DMI’s NCKF-SAT unit.

Responsibilities

• Assist researchers in implementing processing jobs for production suites.
• Help monitor production pipelines and data quality checks.
• Contribute to validation and quality assurance reports.
• Link between IT infrastructure and research teams within NCKF-SAT.
