Job description

How does Europe reap the benefits of AI, while remaining secure, sovereign and true to its democratic values? These are some of the questions that Netcompany Institute has set out to answer, and we are looking for two student assistants to help us do just that.

Netcompany Institute is a new analytical unit providing data-driven analyses of how AI and digitalization affect Europe. The aim is to strengthen the evidence base for public debate and help decision-makers navigate the choices that will shape Europe's digital future. You'll join a small team: a Chief Economist and two full-time Analytics Consultants.

Responsibilities

You will support analyses throughout their lifecycle, from framing questions to communicating results. Your responsibilities will typically include:

  • Monitor policy developments and research on AI and digitalisation in Europe
  • Collect and structure data from Eurostat, OECD and statistical offices
  • Produce descriptive statistics, tables and charts publication-ready
  • Write analytical text and fact-check sources

Responsibility grows with experience. At the beginning you will work closely with an Analytics Consultant on clearly defined tasks; over time we expect you to take ownership of analyses in your own right.

How we work with AI

AI tools are integral to our work. We use them for literature searches, data work and monitoring, so human time focuses on what matters most: finding the right questions, interpreting results and communicating them clearly. You don't need expertise at the start, but must be willing to learn and maintain high accuracy standards.

About You

We are looking for two students who can each work approximately 16 hours per week. We are flexible during exam periods, but availability is expected in the lead-up to publication deadlines and events. To succeed in this role, you:

  • Are in the final year of your bachelor's degree or have started a master's degree in economics, political science, statistics, data science or a similar field
  • Full professional proficiency in English (written and spoken) is a must; Danish is an advantage
  • Are comfortable working with data: confident in Excel and ideally familiar with Python, R, Stata or a similar tool
  • Are curious about how AI and digitalisation are changing European economies and societies
  • Are willing to learn to use AI tools effectively in your own work, and to keep relating output critically to prior knowledge and theory
Continue developing with us

At Netcompany, we focus on your personal and professional development. When you join us, you will be assigned a personal mentor who will guide you through your development and help you achieve your goals. Additionally, you will be enrolled in our internal training programme, Netcompany Academy, where you are offered courses and seminars on everything from technologies to customer management.

Join an inclusive community

At Netcompany, we highly prioritise an inclusive community. We actively promote an open and welcoming work culture based on collaboration and mutual trust, where there is always an opportunity for sparring. As we are an international company with offices in many countries, you will have the opportunity to learn and collaborate internationally with colleagues from across the world.
