Job summary

Om stillingenThe Centre for Industrial Electronics (CIE) at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) invites applications for a Student Research Assistant position (10 hours per week) from 1 October till 30 September 2027. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated student to gain research experience in capacitor technologies.

Research Area

The successful candidate will contribute to activities related to the fabrication and characterization of capacitors, including:

  • Electrolytic capacitors
  • Metallized film capacitors

The work will involve laboratory-based experiments, materials characterization, performance testing, and data analysis aimed at supporting the development of next-generation capacitor technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the fabrication and assembly of capacitor prototypes.
  • Perform electrical and materials characterization experiments.
  • Collect, analyze, and document experimental data.
  • Support laboratory maintenance and equipment operation.
  • Collaborate with researchers, PhD students, and other team members on ongoing research projects.
Required Qualifications
  • An educational background in Electronics Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • Theoretical knowledge of advanced electronics.
  • Hands-on laboratory experience related to capacitor fabrication and characterization.
  • Familiarity with advanced characterization techniques, such as:
    • Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM).
    • Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM).
  • The ability to work independently and systematically in a research laboratory.
