Job summary

Nokia is seeking a senior patent specialist in Finland to drive 5G/6G standard essential patenting. You will work with inventors to evaluate disclosures and determine filing strategy, and perform claim charting against 5G/6G specs in close cooperation with patent associates.

This role requires a PhD or MSc with strong research, deep knowledge of 3GPP processes, and a proactive, multi-priority mindset to advance Nokia’s leading patent portfolio.

Qualifications

• PhD in telecommunications or MSc with substantial research experience.
• Professional experience in patenting and understanding of patent processes.
• Experience in invention evaluation and claim charting.
• Knowledge of 5G/6G systems and 3GPP processes; expertise in physical-layer or radio protocols.
• Proactive approach with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Familiarity with AI tools used in patenting or standards research.

Responsibilities

• Work with inventors to enable high value 5G and 6G invention disclosures, evaluate disclosures and make filing decisions.
• Claim charting to the 5G and 6G specifications, value assessment of patent families.
• Promote a culture of innovation in the company where the technical patent specialists play a central role working closely with the inventors and the patent associates.
