Job summary

The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Southern Denmark invites applications for a Research Assistant (Staff Scientist) in cancer bioinformatics and molecular oncology. The successful candidate will strengthen computational and omics analyses and integrate them with experimental cancer biology in a collaborative research environment.

Qualifications

PhD in relevant field (molecular biology, biochemistry, bioinformatics, cancer biology)
Postdoctoral research experience in molecular oncology or cancer-related research
Strong expertise in bioinformatics and computational analysis of biological datasets
Experience with transcriptomic data analysis and interpretation of pathways/networks
Knowledge of cancer metabolism and mechanisms of cancer progression
Ability to conduct research independently and collaborate in multidisciplinary teams
Strong scientific publication record
Good communication and interest in teaching activities

Responsibilities

Conduct independent and collaborative cancer biology research focusing on metabolic regulation and tumor progression.
Develop and apply bioinformatics and computational methods for analysis of transcriptomic and omics data.
Integrate bioinformatics with experimental research within the lab.
Identify molecular pathways and regulatory networks involved in cancer progression.
Prepare scientific publications, research proposals, and grant applications.
Contribute to teaching activities in the department, including the BMB835 course.
Collaborate with researchers within the department and contribute to the group's scientific development.
