Job summary

Novo Nordisk in Bagsværd, Denmark, seeks a Senior Outsourcing Manager to lead outsourcing projects across the drug development value chain. You will collaborate with Novo teams and external CMO partners worldwide to drive progress, quality and timely deliveries from project start to completion.

In this role you will select CMOs, negotiate agreements, protect Novo’s intellectual property and influence cross‑functional teams with informal leadership to drive complex projects to successful outcomes.

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in chemistry, biochemistry, engineering or life sciences.
• 4–6+ years in pharma/biotech or regulated industry.
• Strong understanding of the R&D value chain and cGMP requirements.
• Experience with outsourcing and CMO/CDMO collaborations.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication.
• Ability to present clearly and build trust across functions.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.

What You’ll Bring

• A MSc or PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Engineering or another relevant life science.
• 4-6+ years of experience from the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or another highly regulated industry.
• A strong understanding of the R&D value chain, drug development processes and Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) requirements.
• Experience with outsourcing, CMO/CDMO collaboration and ideally contract negotiations.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, and the ability to navigate a complex, interdisciplinary organisation.
• The ability to create structure, turn information into clear presentations and build trust across functions and with external partners.
• A proactive, positive and independent way of working, and the ability to manage several tasks at once in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.

Who You’ll Work With

You will join the CMC Outsourcing & Business Development team in CMC Development, part of Global Manufacturing & Supply. CMC Development develops, manufactures and distributes drug candidates for non-clinical and clinical trials. The CMC Outsourcing team supports the Novo development pipeline and has around 30 experienced colleagues responsible for sourcing and outsourcing activities across CMC Development.

Based in Bagsværd, you will work with external CMO partners globally and with colleagues across Global Research, Quality, Regulatory, Chemical Development, Manufacturing Development, Purchasing and Commercial Manufacturing. Close collaboration with Contract Managers will help you move agreements forward. You will have significant responsibility and visibility across the business unit, and the clarity you create around priorities will help teams decide, act and deliver.

Salary: For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from 742,600 to 1,091,600 DKK, corresponding to the level of the position. The placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate's skills, competencies, knowledge, and relevant experience. Incentives and Benefits: The salary package may include short-term and/or long-term incentives as well as other employee benefits based on position level, location, functional area and relevant market benchmarks.
