Job summary

JOE & THE JUICE is seeking an Engineering Manager to align large-scale initiatives across guest apps, POS, and core systems. You will coordinate multiple software teams, balance technical depth with business impact, and report to the Director of Engineering.

You will lead delivery governance, support sprint planning, and drive improvements across App, Web, Delivery, and backend services.

Job Summary

We are the technology behind 500+ stores in 18 countries - the app our guests order from, the POS our Juicers work on, and the systems that keep it all connected. We are looking for an Engineering Manager to make delivery across that landscape aligned, predictable, and high quality. This is a role for someone who thrives in the space between teams. You will drive large initiatives spanning our guest-facing platforms (App, Web, Delivery) and our core operational systems (POS, List, WP2), working alongside Engineering Managers, Tech Leads, and Product Managers to keep execution coordinated and dependencies under control. You will report to our Director of Engineering.

Key Responsibilities

Cross-team delivery and program coordination

• Drive end-to-end delivery of large initiatives across App, Web, Delivery, POS, List, and WP2
• Keep product roadmaps, technical execution, and business priorities pulling in the same direction
• Spot and manage cross-team dependencies, risks, and bottlenecks before they become blockers
• Coordinate releases and major changes across systems and markets
• Communicate progress, trade-offs, and risks clearly to leadership

Sprint and execution support

• Support teams in sprint planning and execution so commitments stay realistic and delivery stays predictable
• Create visibility on delivery status, risks, and milestones
• Facilitate cross-team ceremonies when initiatives span multiple domains
• Ensure clean handovers where responsibilities intersect (App, POS, and backend APIs)

Process and continuous improvement

• Establish and refine delivery governance and reporting structures
• Improve ways of working across teams to increase flow and reduce friction
• Support structured release planning and post-release reviews
• Turn learnings from incidents and delays into better delivery practice

Who You Are

• You are structured, proactive, and execution-focused
• You hold several moving parts at once without losing the thread, and you communicate with the clarity that keeps everyone aligned
• You have enough technical depth to earn the trust of engineers and enough commercial sense to translate delivery into business impact
• You lead through influence rather than authority, and you take real pride in shipping

What You'll Bring

• Experience as an Engineering Manager, Delivery Manager, Program Manager, Technical Project Manager, or similar
• A proven track record coordinating delivery across multiple software teams and domains
• Strong understanding of agile methodologies and sprint-based delivery
• Technical understanding, ideally from a development background
• Hands-on experience working with AWS
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Ideally, experience in retail, POS, or omnichannel environments
