Job summary

University of Southern Denmark’s Centre for Software Technology (CST) at SDU Vejle invites applications for an engineering position to support the buildup of CST and its laboratories. The role focuses on software engineering, interaction technology and AI research, with close cooperation with industry to drive digitalization.

The candidate will work on prototyping interactive technologies, developing software for intelligent systems, and maintaining lab infrastructures.

Qualifications

• Experience collaborating on research projects with industry or academia.
• Experience implementing software solutions in multiple programming languages.
• Experience managing lab spaces and training for fabrication equipment.
• Experience prototyping interactive technologies and digital/physical fabrication.
• Experience with software development processes and methods.
• Experience with software infrastructures (Git, Docker, Kubernetes, cloud).
• Experience developing middleware, services, microservices, and databases.
• Experience with Generative AI and Prompt Engineering, including ethical considerations.
• Experience with data engineering and ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow).

Responsibilities

• Prototype interactive technologies and fabricate digital/physical systems.
• Develop software for intelligent systems and cyber-physical applications.
• Maintain and build lab infrastructures and collaborate with researchers.
• Support research and educational activities across projects.
• Manage lab space, inventory, safety, and equipment training.
• Collaborate with local industry and municipality on business development.
• Apply AI technologies ethically in engineering contexts.
