Job description

Build the Flight Control and Autonomous Systems for the Future of Heavy‑Lift Cargo UAS

Are you ready to develop software that directly controls and guides an aircraft in flight? As a Software & AI Engineer with us, you will work on flight control, autonomous navigation, mission planning, and AI‑driven systems for our next‑generation cargo aircraft. You'll have the opportunity to develop technology from concept to flight test while growing your skills in one of the fastest‑moving areas of aerospace.

Your Role

As part of our software team, you will develop the intelligence that enables our heavy‑lift cargo aircraft to fly safely, autonomously, and efficiently. You will work across flight control, mission management, navigation, simulation, and AI‑driven systems, helping shape the software architecture of our next‑generation platform.

You will work across flight control, autonomous navigation, mission management, sensor fusion, and AI‑driven decision‑making systems. This is a unique opportunity to shape the software architecture of a next‑generation aerospace platform from the ground up. You will be working with:

Flight Control & Autonomy
  • Develop flight control algorithms for VTOL and fixed‑wing flight regimes
  • Implement guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) systems
  • Develop autonomous mission planning and execution capabilities
  • Integrate onboard sensors including GNSS, IMUs, radar, lidar, and vision systems
AI & Advanced Algorithms
  • Develop AI‑based perception and decision‑making systems
  • Implement computer vision and object detection capabilities
  • Support autonomous obstacle avoidance and route optimization
  • Explore machine learning approaches for fault detection and predictive maintenance
Software Development
  • Develop embedded and onboard software architectures
  • Build simulation environments and digital twins
  • Support hardware‑in‑the‑loop (HIL) and software‑in‑the‑loop (SIL) testing
  • Contribute to cloud‑based fleet management and mission software
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with systems, propulsion, and test engineers
  • Support flight testing and debugging activities
  • Contribute to system architecture and safety analyses
About You

We’re looking for someone who is curious, hands‑on, and eager to work across disciplines. You should enjoy solving complex problems and turning ideas into working systems. You have a can‑do attitude and are not afraid to work across multiple disciplines in small teams or on your own.

You likely have

  • Background as an industrial technician, precision mechanic, toolmaker, or similar
  • Experience with CNC machining, turning, and milling
  • Strong practical understanding of mechanical systems and fabrication techniques
  • Experience with composite materials is a strong advantage
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and CAD models
  • Hands‑on mindset with strong attention to detail and quality
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced prototype environment
Nice to Have
  • Experience in aerospace, automotive, robotics, or similar high‑performance industries
  • Familiarity with GD&T and tight‑tolerance manufacturing
  • Experience with fixture design or small‑scale tooling development
  • Basic CAD skills (e.g., SolidWorks or similar)
