Job summary

Vestas is seeking a Professional with strong embedded software and diagnostic skills to drive project delivery in an agile environment. You will develop advanced algorithms and embedded software for smart sensing and diagnostics within the Advanced Sensing & Diagnostics sub-module of Turbine Control Software.

Ideal candidates have a Master’s degree in software/engineering and 4+ years in embedded software and data analytics, with C++ and Matlab/Simulink experience, plus sensor engineering

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in software, control, electrical engineering or a related field.
  • 4+ years in embedded software and data analytics; experience with C++, Matlab/Simulink.
  • Experience in sensor engineering and managing project sub-tasks.
  • Strong understanding of physics and data analytics for turbine data.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver technical and turbine projects reliably within an agile framework from concept to deployment.
  • Provide technical ownership and help the team adopt best practices.
  • Design and develop advanced algorithms and embedded software for sensing and diagnostics.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to identify turbine performance issues and data anomalies.
  • Shape and improve functional and non-functional software requirements for turbine control systems.
  • Contribute to process improvements, software frameworks, and engineering tools.

The Advanced Sensing and Diagnostics Sub Module is part of the Turbine Control Software Module within Vestas Power Solutions. As such, we are responsible for delivering the software for the most complex sensor solutions, e.g. Wind Sensing, Tower Accelerations and Blade Load Sensing. Furthermore, our mission is to create smart sensor signals, which enables the turbine to run more reliable, more efficiently or enables us to detect current and potential future defects to improve our service business and thus creates value for Vestas and our customers.

Responsibilities
  • Project Delivery & Execution: Deliver technical and turbine projects reliably within an agile framework, managing your assigned tasks from initial concept through deployment
  • Technical Ownership: Guide critical technical results while helping the team streamline operations and adopt effective best practices
  • Algorithm & Control Development: Design and develop advanced algorithms and embedded software for smart sensing and diagnostics solutions
  • Diagnostics & Root Cause Analysis: Conduct complex root cause analysis (RCA) to pinpoint potential turbine performance issues and sensor data anomalies
  • Requirements Engineering: Help shape and improve functional and non-functional software requirements for turbine control systems
  • Process Excellence: Participate in the advancement of internal processes, software frameworks, and engineering tools to improve how we work
Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Software Engineering, Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar background
  • 4+ years' experience in embedded software & data analytics environment. Experience with C++, Matlab / Simulink
  • Experience in sensor engineering, including reliable management of project sub-tasks
  • Good skills within physics and data analytics, which enables you to understand turbine physics easily and analyze large sets of data efficiently
