Job summary

Vattenfall is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for the WTG Systems Engineering team to shape reliability, safety, and lifecycle performance of wind turbine electrical systems. You will work across European locations, leading investigations and defining maintenance strategies to reduce risk and improve availability.

The role emphasizes collaboration with asset management, operations, suppliers, and other engineering teams.

Qualifications

• A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Significant wind energy industry experience covering design, manufacturing, inspection, repair, and operations.
• Strong knowledge of electrical degradation, failure mechanisms, inspection/testing methodologies, and repair techniques.
• Experience leading technical investigations and RCAs, using electrical condition monitoring and diagnostics.
• Ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience working across multidisciplinary teams and influencing technical decisions.
• Professional proficiency in written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize maintenance strategies and asset management plans.
• Lead technical investigations and Root Cause Analyses (RCA).
• Assess technical risks and support data-driven decision-making across the fleet.
• Define technical requirements for inspections, repairs, monitoring systems, and maintenance activities.
• Support supplier selection, contract development, and technical performance evaluations.
• Maintain OPEX assumptions, budgets, and cost models.
• Evaluate, test, and implement innovative technologies incl. inspection and repair solutions.
• Review technical proposals for component purchases and refurbishments.
• Share lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
