Job summary

Vienna Insurance Group (VIG) Nordic region seeks a Senior Underwriter (all genders) to strengthen Industrial Corporate underwriting in Oslo or Stockholm. You will independently underwrite complex CAR, EAR and Power risks, collaborate with local and international colleagues, and support sustainable portfolio growth.

The role includes on-site work in Oslo or Stockholm, with a competitive compensation package and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Several years of experience in Engineering underwriting, ideally within an international or industrial business environment.
• Strong technical expertise in construction, erection and power (both construction and operation) insurance.
• Proven experience with large infrastructure, industrial or energy projects.
• Fluent English; Nordic language skills are an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Independently underwrite complex CAR, EAR and Power risks, including large and multinational projects.
• Assess technical, financial and contractual risk aspects to derive sound underwriting and pricing decisions.
• Structure tailor-made coverage solutions and define capacity deployment in line with risk appetite and profitability targets.
• Lead and coordinate reinsurance strategies for large and complex risks in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
• Drive broker and client relationships at senior level, leading negotiations and contributing to new business in the Nordic market.
• Actively steer portfolio performance, ensuring underwriting quality, profitability and sustainable growth.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members.
