Job summary

Wärtsilä Corporation in Noerresundby, Denmark is seeking a Senior Support Engineer to join the Alignment and Measurement Services department. The role is 50% office and 50% field, with extensive travel (approximately 120 days per year) across domestic and international sites.

You will perform calculations, develop shaft line monitoring systems, and provide technical support to customers and colleagues. The candidate should have a Mechanical Engineer background, proficiency in CAD and MS Office,

Qualifications

• Education as a Mechanical Engineer or equivalent in mechanical/electrical fields.
• Experience is beneficial but not required.
• Strong IT skills including CAD and Office package.

Responsibilities

• Provide internal support to alignment engineers.
• Perform calculations and create drawings.
• Conduct mechanical calculations and simulations.
• Assist on-site with special measurements.

We are looking for a Senior Support Engineer to join our Alignment and Measurement Services department in Noerresundby, Denmark.

We are looking for a committed colleague with an interest in and insight into measurement technology and mechanical calculations. We offer an exciting and challenging job in the maritime industry, where you will have a busy day with a lot of travel activity, where no two days are the same. This position is based 50% in the office and 50% in the field.

What are my key responsibilities?

• Internal support of alignment engineers.
• Calculations and drawings.
• Mechanical calculations and simulations.
• On-Site assistance with special measurements.
• Development and production of Shaft Line Monitoring Systems.
• Data analysis and reporting.
• Technical support and trouble shooting in cooperation with colleagues and external clients.
• Travel activity must be expected (approx. 120 days/year) domestic and abroad.

What will I need to be successful?

• Education as a Mechanical Engineer, degree in Mechanical or electrical engineering or similar.
• Relevant practical experience will be an advantage, but not a must.
• Proficiency in IT, including the Microsoft Office suite, CAD.
• Good English skills, oral and written.
• Flexible and persistent approach to the tasks performed in an inter-organizational environment.
• Commercial flair and business understanding.
• You are a passionate soul who is passionate about what you do and is not afraid to take action yourself, you are independent and self-driving.
• Being a team player with good teamwork skills and a sense of situation.
• Being persistent and quality-conscious in your work and having the interest and professionalism for this type of specialist tasks.
• You thrive in a high-tech environment and have a good dose of humour.
