Unity Technologies is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to lead architecture and implementation of bridge-based TypeScript services. You will design reliable APIs and evolve the backend foundation to support a growing suite of commerce experiences.
You will work with cloud-based architectures, own design decisions, and collaborate with business and IT partners to deliver scalable, reliable microservices and automated testing. This role emphasizes ownership and architecture excellence.
Unity’s commerce systems power the business infrastructure behind our developer ecosystem — from licensing and subscriptions to in-editor purchases and platform integrations. At the heart of this architecture is commerce services: backend-for-frontend (BFF) services and integrations that encapsulates business logic and service orchestration for our commerce platform.
The Core Commerce Backend team plays a pivotal role in unifying frontend experiences with backend systems such as commercetools, user identity, entitlement services, and pricing logic.
We are looking for a Backend Engineer to lead architecture and implementation efforts across Bridge’s Typescript-based services. You’ll design reliable, scalable APIs and evolve our backend foundation to support a growing suite of commerce experiences.
This range reflects the anticipated base salary for this position. Beyond base salary, this role may be eligible for equity awards and participation in our company incentive plans (such as annual discretionary bonuses or sales commissions). The final offer amount will depend on several factors, including geographic location and the candidate’s relevant experience, professional background, and skill set.
