Drive Strategic Outsourcing and CMO Partnerships to Advance Our Drug Development Pipeline

We are looking for three new colleagues to join our CMC Outsourcing team: two Senior Outsourcing Managers and one Associate Outsourcing Director. Across these roles, you will play a key part in leading global outsourcing activities, manage CMO collaborations, and ensure progress across drug product development projects.

Your new role

As Senior Outsourcing Manager or Associate Outsourcing Director, you will lead cross‑functional collaboration with experts across Novo and external CMO partners globally. Your primary responsibility will be to manage outsourcing projects within drug product solutions across both oral and injectable formats, ensuring strong progress, high‑quality deliveries, and effective collaboration from project initiation to completion.

You Will Also Be Responsible For

• Selecting and approving CMOs, negotiating and maintaining relevant agreements in close collaboration with Contract Managers, and building strong, collaborative external partnerships
• Protecting Novo intellectual property rights while ensuring timely delivery of high‑quality assessments
• Facilitating cross‑organisational collaboration with relevant stakeholders across Novo, including Global Research, Quality, Regulatory, Purchasing, Manufacturing Development, and Commercial Manufacturing

The final role level will depend on your experience, seniority, and ability to lead complex outsourcing projects and strategic partnerships. The Senior Outsourcing Manager roles will focus on driving outsourcing projects and day‑to‑day CMO collaboration, while the Associate Outsourcing Director role will take a broader strategic lead on complex partnerships and cross‑functional decision‑making.

You will have significant responsibility and visibility across the business unit, using your informal leadership to influence decisions, drive progress, and lead complex projects with colleagues and partners.

Your Skills And Qualifications

We expect you to have an educational background as Engineer, Pharmacist, or other relevant life science degree. You also bring:

• 5–8+ years of experience from the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or another highly regulated industry
• Strong understanding of the R&D value chain, drug development processes, and Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) requirements
• Experience with outsourcing, CMO/CDMO collaboration, and contract negotiations
• Preferably, previous experience as a Project Manager, Alliance Manager, or in a similar role leading cross‑functional collaboration
• Fluency in written and spoken English

To succeed in these roles, you need excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, as well as the ability to navigate a complex interdisciplinary organisation.

As a person, you are a strong communicator who can create structure, translate information into clear presentations, and build trust across functions and external partners. You are proactive, positive, and independent, and you can manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment. The CMC Outsourcing team supports the Novo development pipeline and consists of around 30 dedicated and experienced employees responsible for sourcing and outsourcing activities across CMC Development.

Salary:

For the Senior Outsourcing Manager role, the annual base salary ranges from DKK 742,600 to 1,091,600. For the Associate Outsourcing Director role, the annual base salary ranges from DKK 847,000 to 1,245,100.

The placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate’s skills, competencies, knowledge, and relevant experience.
