Job summary

RDT is seeking a Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain a modern network and infrastructure supporting a large-scale SCADA environment in the renewable energy sector. You will own the network and server infrastructure underpinning SCADA systems, working with a cross-functional team in a fast-paced setting.

Network Engineer – Renewable Energy Sector

We are looking for a skilled Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain modern network and infrastructure solutions supporting a large-scale SCADA environment within the renewable energy (wind power) industry.

This role owns the network and server infrastructure platform underpinning renewable energy SCADA systems, working within a team that runs multiple parallel initiatives in a fast-paced environment. The role requires strong technical depth in enterprise networking, a structured working approach, and the ability to manage several concurrent workstreams while adapting to shifting priorities.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain complex network architectures and infrastructure solutions
• Support and evolve the network and server platform used for SCADA systems
• Work with cross-functional teams to introduce new technologies and improve existing solutions
• Contribute to automation, standardization, and continuous improvement of infrastructure
• Ensure reliable, secure, and scalable infrastructure services

Required Experience & Skills

• Senior-level network engineering experience (equivalent to a senior/expert development level)
• Strong ability to design and implement complex network topologies and technologies
• Solid hands‑on experience with:
• Cisco networking technologies
• Git and GitHub
• Strong written and spoken English

Nice to Have

• Experience with LaTeX
• Knowledge of additional networking vendors/technologies beyond Cisco
• Experience with OpenShift, Containers, and/or Kubernetes

Background

Candidates with a background as a Network/Data Technician, Network Engineer/Specialist, or a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, combined with solid practical experience in enterprise networking and infrastructure, are well suited for this role.
