Job summary

Lunar is hiring an Android Engineer for the Aarhus squad to help users across the Nordics manage money with a fast, delightful Android experience. You’ll work in a modern Kotlin stack (Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, Flow, Hilt, Room, Retrofit) and take ownership from first commit to production.

Collaborating with Design, Backend, iOS, and Data teams, you’ll ship features that feel native and polished, across multiple Nordic languages, while embracing the Matter design system.

Qualifications

• Strong Android fundamentals with modern Kotlin tooling.
• Experience with Jetpack Compose and MVVM patterns.
• Wamiliarity with Coroutines, Flow, Retrofit, Hilt and Room.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship features in a Jetpack Compose app, from first commit to production.
• Craft UI with Design in Lunar's Matter system across Nordic languages.
• Work in a Kotlin stack including Coroutines, Flow, Hilt, Room and Retrofit.
• Collaborate daily with iOS, Backend, Web, Product, Design, and Data teams.
• Move fast, iterate, and translate feedback into solid craft.

As our new Android Engineer you'll join Squad Pace based in Aarhus, reporting to Girish. You'll help build the app that users across the Nordics use to manage their money every day, crafting polished, fast, delightful experiences on modern Android codebase.

What will you do?

• Build and ship features in a Jetpack Compose app, owning them from the first commit to production and beyond. At Lunar, you build it and run it
• Craft UI that people actually love to use, working pixel-close with Design in our in-house "Matter" design system — 30+ Compose component families localized across five Nordic languages
• Work in a modern Kotlin stack every day: Coroutines & Flow, Hilt, Room, Retrofit, and a clean UI → ViewModel → Repository architecture across a ~130-module codebase
• Work daily alongside iOS, Backend, and Web engineers, as well as Product, Design, and Data. Cross-functional is how we work
• Move fast and iterate. We learn quickly from what doesn't work and don't let perfection slow down progress
• Work in a team that takes AI seriously as part of how we write and ship code. You'll have the tools, the culture, and the mandate to explore what that means in practice

What are we looking for in you?

• A genuine passion for Android and for building beautiful, intuitive UI. This role is about craft as much as code
• Some Android engineering experience — you don't need to be a senior. If you're hungry, curious, and building things, we want to talk
• Solid Kotlin fundamentals, and experience with (or strong eagerness to learn) Jetpack Compose. If you've been building with Views and want to go all-in on Compose, we'll help you get there.
• A collaborative mindset. You ask good questions early, communicate clearly, and make the people around you better
• A drive to grow and take ownership. You follow through on your work, take feedback well, and actively look for ways to improve your craft
