Job summary

Purpose Recruitment is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for a major construction project in Denmark. The role involves coordinating design documentation and overseeing on-site installation through to commissioning on a high-value site.

You will review specs, manage drawings across mechanical and related disciplines, and ensure compliance, with a focus on delivering complex mechanical packages in pharma, data centre or industrial environments. A European right to work in Denmark is required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate drawings across mechanical, electrical, sprinkler, structural and architectural elements.
• Review project specs and assess compliance of coordinated drawings and technical submittals.
• Compile and assess technical submittals, process requisitions and purchase orders.
• Carry out receipt verification on equipment and materials arriving on site.
• Prepare method statements and risk assessments, and organise the work of subcontractors.
• Run quality inspections and snagging, including walking down P&IDs and layout drawings.
• Populate and track test packs.
• Clarify queries with the design team through the RFI system.

Our client is an international multi-disciplinary engineering services contractor delivering high-value projects for blue chip clients across Ireland, the UK, Europe and South Africa. They are a leading name in pharmaceuticals, data centres and power transmission and distribution, with a considerable portfolio of secured work for the next 5+ years.

The role

As Mechanical Engineer, you will support the engineering activities on a major construction project in Denmark, coordinating design documentation through onsite installation to successful commissioning.

What you will be doing

• Coordinating drawings across mechanical, electrical, sprinkler, structural and architectural elements
• Reviewing project specifications and assessing compliance of coordinated drawings and technical submittals
• Compiling and assessing technical submittals, and processing requisitions and purchase orders
• Carrying out receipt verification on equipment and materials arriving on site
• Preparing method statements and risk assessments, and organising the work of subcontractors
• Running quality inspections and snagging, including walking down P&IDs and layout drawings
• Populating and tracking test packs
• Clarifying queries with the design team through the RFI system

What you will bring

• 3rd level qualification in Building Services Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, or a senior trades qualification
• 5+ years of project engineering experience with a mechanical contractor
• A track record of delivering mechanical projects in commercial, industrial, pharma or data centre settings
• Commercial awareness, including familiarity with profit plans and variation logs
• Capability of walking down mechanical systems to confirm compliance with specification
• Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently
