Job summary

Microchip Denmark is seeking an embedded software engineer to develop OS-agnostic C APIs for physical Ethernet interfaces used in automotive and industrial applications.

You will bring up and tune interfaces from 10 Mbit MII to 25G SerDes, implement PCS/MAC driver logic, and maintain PHY drivers for Ethernet standards.

The role involves MISRA-C, ASPICE, testing infrastructure, cross‑functional collaboration, and a globally oriented team with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Proficient in C and embedded software development.
• Experience with physical Ethernet layers and interface standards is preferred.
• Ability to work in regulated safety/quality environments.
• Strong English communication, written and oral.

Responsibilities

• Develop OS-agnostic C APIs for physical network interfaces.
• Bring up and tune interfaces from 10 Mbit MII to 25G SerDes.
• Implement PCS and MAC layer functionality from a software driver perspective.
• Develop and maintain PHY drivers for Ethernet standards (e.g., 1000BASE-T, 1000BASE-T1, 10BASE-T1S).
• Contribute to the associated switch driver.
• Write MISRA-C code compliant with ASPICE and automotive safety standards.
• Contribute to automated testing infrastructure and test platforms.
