Job summary

Unity seeks a Senior Backend Engineer to design and build integrations across Workday and upstream/downstream financial systems. You will develop TypeScript services on GCP, craft APIs, and own production pipelines with strong data integrity.

You’ll shape integration standards across the team, collaborating with Finance, IT and platform groups. The role combines hands-on development with defining long-term architecture in a fast-moving finance landscape.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing scalable backend services in production.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript for service-layer development.
• Experience integrating enterprise systems (ERP/CRM/billing/subscriptions).
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL, messaging queues, and observability.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and operate backend services connecting Workday with financial systems.
• Build event-driven data pipelines on GCP (Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, BigQuery).
• Turn partially defined requirements into concrete designs or deliverables.
• Own reconciliation and data integrity, with recoverability and clear runbooks.
