Job summary

The Institut Laue-Langevin (ILL) in Grenoble, France, seeks a Security Officer to support the Site Security and Protection Service (SSP). You will monitor secured areas and work with reactor shift teams to uphold safety and security across the site.

Responsibilities include CCTV surveillance, access control, alarm handling, and acting as a first responder to fires or other emergencies, coordinating with external services.

Qualifications

• Level 3/4 security qualification required.
• CNAPS/SIA or equivalent licence required.
• Solid experience in emergency services or security sectors.
• Ability to work in a team and adapt to changing conditions.
• Good computer literacy and stress management in high‑pressure situations.
• Intermediate English is desirable; French required.

Responsibilities

• Perform CCTV surveillance and alarm handling.
• Control site access and manage entry/exit at various zones.
• Lead or assist emergency response teams as needed.
• Conduct routine security patrols and incident reporting.
• Coordinate with external emergency services when required.
• Prepare and relay security information and logs.
• Participate in tests and inspections of SSP responsibilities.
