Job description

Systematic searching, negotiation, coordination, and scientific writing

DTU’s Centre for Absolute Sustainability is looking for a scientific fundraiser, experienced in developing, coordinating and co-writing applications for large research projects.

The job

We are seeking a new colleague with scientific competencies, to help us to develop our project pipeline at the Centre, taking the lead in prioritising the many funding opportunities that we have and developing these into realised projects.

Primary areas of responsibility will include:

  • Development and support for research applications with internal and external partners
  • Information and advisory activities on funding for research and innovation for researchers and the Centre’s management
  • Collaboration with DTU’s central research office on support for excellence applications
  • Facilitation and process management of larger strategic applications for the Centre
  • Driving and coordinating dialogue with and across DTU’s departments regarding joint research activities
  • Initiating collaborations that can lead to applications
  • Drafting and coordination of research applications, including the scientific and administrative contents
  • Setup, coordination and handover of successful applications to the project manager(s)
Our expectations of you

You have experience in fundraising, both with respect to coordinating & prioritising funding applications, and with respect to assisting with the scientific writing process.

You are a keen collaborator, able to communicate at high scientific level, with senior research staff, funding agencies and other relevant stakeholders (incl. company representatives, NGOs, GOs).

You have a proven track record in scientific writing, possibly with a PhD and with scientific publications in your name as co-/author.

You are used to taking initiative and to taking the lead on development tasks with multiple types and numbers of collaborators, as is the nature of scientific research proposals.

You are good at planning towards deadlines and able to coordinate efforts in a collaborative and organised manner.

What we offer in return

The DTU Centre for Absolute Sustainability offers collaboration with a highly purpose-driven team of colleagues, all of whom share a common goal to advance the scientific field, in collaboration with each other, internally, and to communicate this broadly to relevant societal stakeholders. Our team is highly diverse with respect to nationality, gender, age and interests. Our own ambitions and activities drive our everyday working life, and we look forward to welcoming a colleague who can help us to realise these through funded projects. We experience many expressions of interest from internal and external colleagues, eager to collaborate with us on project applications, either towards specific calls, or as uninvited bids to foundations or consortia.

Salary and appointment terms

The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC). In addition, supplements can be negotiated in accordance with DTU’s salary structure for academic staff employed in technical-administrative positions at DTU (AC TAP): https://www.inside.dtu.dk/en/human-resources/during-employment/salary/salary-structures
