Job summary

MAP in Copenhagen is seeking a structured and proactive Resource Manager to act as the operational engine for our Consulting Practice, planning and coordinating resources across projects and balancing capacity for our global teams based mainly in Copenhagen.

You will work with Consulting leaders, Client Engagement and Delivery teams to ensure the right people are staffed on the right work at the right time, monitor capacity and utilization, and address risks and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Own resource planning and allocation across the four teams in the Consulting Practice.
• Understand consultants' skills, strengths, aspirations and availability to match project needs with the right people while monitoring capacity, utilisation and forecasts.
• Partner with Heads of the Consulting teams and Directors on staffing decisions and priorities through weekly check-ins; liaise with internal stakeholders to plan staffing.
• Identify resource gaps, overbooking and delivery risks, and proactively help resolve them. Manage holiday requests and approvals.
• Act as a trusted point of contact for consultants regarding staffing and workload balance.
• Build relationships across the Consulting Practice to understand team dynamics and support staffing decisions that benefit the business and our people.
• Support improvements to resourcing processes, planning routines and ways of working with business support teams and capability leadership.

We are looking for a structured and proactive Resource Manager to act as the operational engine for our Consulting Practice, a central part of the CRM, marketing automation and personalisation powerhouse that is WPP Enterprise Solutions MAP.

In this role, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating resources across projects, balancing business needs and team capacity for our global teams, the majority of which are based in Copenhagen.

You will work closely with leaders across Consulting and Client Engagement and Delivery teams to ensure the right people are staffed on the right work at the right time. Success in this role is not only about balancing capacity and demand, but also about understanding people, their skills, aspirations and team dynamics. The role requires strong planning skills, commercial understanding, sound judgement and the ability to navigate changing priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

What will your day look like?

• Own resource planning and allocation across the 4 teams in our Consulting Practice.
• Know the team: understand consultants' skills, strengths, aspirations and availability to match project needs with the right people, while monitoring capacity, utilisation and resource forecasts.
• Partner with Heads of the Consulting teams and Directors on staffing decisions and priorities through weekly (and sometimes daily) check-ins. Liaise directly with internal stakeholders as needed to plan staffing.
• Identify resource gaps, overbooking and delivery risks, and proactively help resolve them. Manage holiday requests and support approvals.
• Act as a trusted point of contact for consultants regarding staffing and workload balance.
• Build strong relationships across the Consulting Practice to understand team dynamics and support meaningful staffing decisions that benefit both the business and our people.
• Support improvements to resourcing processes, planning routines and ways of working with business support teams and capability leadership.

What do you bring to the table?

• Demonstrated experience in resourcemanagement, workstreammanagement, operations, or projectmanagement.
• Excellent communication skills and fluent/professional proficiency in English.
• Strong planning, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong people judgement and relationship-building skills, with the ability to understand individual strengths and motivations and translate them into effective staffing decisions.
• Comfortable working with forecasting, utilisation, and capacity data.
• Organised, proactive and people-oriented, with the ability to balance business priorities, employee development and delivery needs.
• Experience from an agency, consultancy, or other project-based environment is an advantage.
