Job summary

Mindrift is seeking a freelance CFD engineer to guide AI agents in expert-level fluid simulations. You will transform CAD geometry, set up and run simulations, build verified reference solutions, and implement Python checks for results.

The role is fully remote with a flexible schedule, roughly 10–20 hours per week during active phases, and compensation is up to $50/hour depending on experience and pace. Knowledge of OpenFOAM/STAR-CCM+ is valued.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• Several years of CFD experience with OpenFOAM, ANSYS Fluent/CFX or STAR-CCM+ and meshing.
• Solid verification and validation incl. mesh-independence studies.
• Proficient in Python and GitHub.
• English at B2 level or above.
• Nice to have: aerospace, automotive, offshore or turbomachinery background; multiphase or particle-laden flow.

Responsibilities

• Train and evaluate AI agents on expert-level CFD tasks.
• Take CAD geometry, set up and run simulations.
