Job summary

Hitachi Rail Limited is seeking a Laboratories Manager to lead and safeguard our test environments, ensuring calibration, safety, and reliability across FAT/I-FAT and regression activities. The role focuses on maintaining lab integrity, configurations and readiness for high-stakes testing.

You will coordinate with IVVQ/T&C, cybersecurity and engineering teams, oversee lab access, incident control and release readiness, while balancing baseline control and safety standards in a dynamic rail/IT-OT

Qualifications

• Experience managing integration laboratories, test benches or simulation environments for rail, telecoms, automation or IT/OT systems.
• Strong configuration, cybersecurity, calibration, safety and test-equipment management skills.
• Ability to balance lab availability with baseline control.

Responsibilities

• Define laboratory strategy, access rules, safety controls, calibration needs, equipment register and booking process.
• Maintain lab configurations, simulators, test benches, software/firmware versions and network connectivity.
• Support FAT, integration tests, regression tests, troubleshooting, training preparation and evidence capture.
• Coordinate lab baseline control with relevant stakeholders (IVVQ/T&C, Cybersecurity, Engineering and suppliers).
• Control lab incidents, defects, changes, housekeeping and readiness for witnessed testing.
