Job summary

NOVENCO Building & Industry in Denmark seeks an experienced R&D Design to Order Project Manager to lead cross-functional engineering projects from customer specification through design, validation and final delivery.

You will manage technical requirements, risk assessments and design reviews, coordinate with Product Management, Operations and Sourcing, and drive DFMEA, verification and handover to production, with a strong emphasis on quality and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Proven project management experience in R&D or product development for industrial equipment, HVAC, fans or related mechanical/electrical systems.
• Technical background in mechanical, electrical, mechatronics or equivalent.
• Experience with CAD, DFMEA, test plans, prototypes and verification/validation processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional R&D projects across scope, milestones and deliverables, ensuring execution stays on schedule, within budget and to specification.
• Own technical requirements, risk assessments, design reviews and validation activities, aligning Engineering, Product and Manufacturing around outcomes.
• Coordinate with Product Management, Operations, Procurement and After-sales to support design for manufacturability, serviceability and regulatory compliance.
• Manage supplier and partner relationships, overseeing technical specifications, sample reviews and issue resolution with test houses.
• Ensure controlled engineering documentation, change management, and verification/validation records, including handover packages for production and service.
• Drive continuous improvement using DFMEA to reduce cost, improve reliability and shorten development cycles.
• Reporting and planning: Maintain project plans, risk registers and status reports; communicate progress and key decisions to stakeholders and senior management.

To support continued growth and increasing project complexity, we are looking for an experienced R&D Design to Order Project Manager to lead cross-functional engineering projects from customer specification through design, validation and final delivery.

What Drives Success

• Proven project management experience in R&D or product development for industrial equipment, HVAC, fans or related mechanical/electrical systems.
• Technical background (mechanical, electrical, mechatronics or equivalent) with demonstrable experience turning requirements into manufacturable designs.
• Experience with product development tools and methods such as CAD, DFMEA, test plans, prototypes and verification/validation processes.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills; able to lead cross‑disciplinary teams and influence decisions across functions.
• Structured and data‑driven mindset for solving problems, with a clear focus on quality, risk mitigation and continuous improvement.
• Experience working with suppliers and third‑party partners, including technical follow‑up and commercial awareness.

Reporting line and context

This is a onsite role at our HQ in Næstved. The role reports to the Director R&D and will collaborate closely with the R&D Team, Product Management, Engineering, Sourcing, Operations and After‑sales. The position will involve regular interaction with manufacturing sites and external partners and may include travel.
