Job summary

Fluor Corp in Copenhagen is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to provide full commercial, contractual, and cost-management support across piping and mechanical work packages on a large pharmaceutical facility expansion.

The role requires accurate measurement, change control under GMP, subcontractor management, and robust cost reporting, working with engineering, construction, QA/QC, procurement and project controls to deliver on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Strong background in piping and mechanical construction, installation, fabrication, or EPC project delivery.
• Experience in quantity surveying, cost control, commercial management, or contract administration on large industrial or regulated projects.
• Proven ability to manage variations, claims, change orders, and subcontractor commercial performance.
• Familiarity with GMP environments, pharmaceutical projects, or other highly regulated sectors (preferred but not essential).
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, piping packages, materials, and construction interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Cost Management & Reporting - Maintain accurate cost tracking for piping and mechanical scopes, including forecasting, cost movements, and commercial risk identification.
• Measurement & BOQs - Validate quantities, perform take-offs, and support development and maintenance of BOQs for mechanical and piping packages.
• Change Control - Assess, document, and manage variations, ensuring strict adherence to GMP- regulated change processes.
• Subcontractor Management - Review and certify subcontractor progress applications, evaluate claims, negotiate commercial adjustments, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
• Tendering & Procurement Support - Assist with tender evaluations, commercial bid analysis, and recommendations for mechanical and piping subcontract awards.
• Contract Administration - Support contract execution, maintain commercial records, track deliverables, and ensure alignment with project controls and site procedures.
• Interface Coordination - Work closely with engineering, construction, QA/QC, and scheduling teams to ensure commercial accuracy and alignment with technical progress.
• Compliance & Documentation - Ensure all commercial activities meet pharmaceutical industry documentation standards, traceability requirements, and regulatory expectations.
• Risk & Opportunity Management - Identify cost risks, opportunities, and efficiencies across mechanical and piping scopes to support project financial performance.

Job Function Quantity Surveyor

The Quantity Surveyor will provide full commercial, contractual, and cost-management support across piping and mechanical work packages on a large pharmaceutical facility expansion. The role ensures accurate measurement, disciplined change control, subcontractor commercial management, and robust cost reporting within a highly regulated GMP environment. The QS will work closely with engineering, construction, project controls, procurement, and QA/QC teams to maintain commercial compliance and support timely, cost-effective delivery of all mechanical and piping scopes.

• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documentation.

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills with multidisciplinary teams.

• Strong commercial reporting, analytical, and documentation skills.

• Proficiency in project controls tools, cost systems, or contract management platforms.

• Relevant degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline
