Job description

Job Description:

Are you a self-starting transformation driver who brings order to complexity and turns strategic vision into step-by-step reality? Are you a gifted communicator and consensus-builder that can influence senior leaders, break down functional silos, and drumbeat delivery to secure global process standardisation? Do you combine strong ERP acumen with a solution-oriented mindset that gets things done even when requirements evolve?

If so, join us as our Project Manager - Transformation Implementation & Coordination and help build the Airbus Material Services 2030 operating foundation!

What the job is...

We have embarked on a multi-year, enterprise-wide transformation program through 2030 to support the long-term growth and industrialisation of Satair and Airbus Material Services, and to enable seamless future M&A integration. We are transitioning from a complex, highly customised, multi-ERP legacy landscape to a harmonised, lean operating model powered by a Fit-to-Standard modern ERP.

As the Foundation & Coordination Pillar, we own the transformation across three core streams: Finance, Compliance, and S&O. This is far more than an IT deployment: it is a holistic reshaping of our global Processes, Methods, Tools and Data (PMTD) to establish a lean, scalable foundation for how our business operates globally.

In your capacity as Project Manager - Transformation Implementation & Coordination, you will:

  • Act as the right hand and partner to the Pillar Leader, orchestrating high-impact, cross‑organisational projects to accelerate industrialisation objectives across Airbus Material Services in alignment with the overall vision.
  • Serve as the structured execution and delivery engine connecting strategic direction with stream-level delivery across Finance, Compliance and S&O to guarantee full execution across the complete pillar portfolio.
  • Drive cross-stream and cross‑organisational alignment and portfolio integrity, ensuring streams deliver on their roadmaps while maintaining total visibility and control over interdependencies, gaps and risks.

This role is right for you if you are a self-starting, pragmatic deliverer with a high capacity to manage ambiguity. You thrive on taking complex long-term objectives and structuring them into clear, sequential steps, defining your own path forward and maintaining execution momentum in a fast‑paced environment.

Travel required: 15%

How you will contribute to the team
  • Pillar & Transformation Roadmap: Partner with the Pillar Leader to define and maintain the pillar’s roadmap, translating complex strategic ambitions and bottom‑up challenges into practical milestones and deliverables.
  • Pillar Coordination & Interdependency Mapping: Maintain a holistic and structured view of progress, gaps, and cross-stream dependencies across Finance, Compliance, and S&O. Proactively surface risks and drive alignment across streams and pillars. Keep activities moving forward towards the end goal.
  • Fit‑to‑Standard Governance: Ensure technical ERP requirements and Fit‑to‑Standard methodologies are deeply understood, respected, and enforced across all stream deliverables.
  • Strategic Escalations & Executive Briefings: Prepare high-impact decision dossiers, scenario analyses, and progress updates for executive forums and the central Transformation steering.
  • Governance & Operating Rhythm: Implement, drumbeat and enhance pillar governance structures, reporting cadences, and budget tracking aligned with central transformation requirements.
  • Stakeholder Alignment Beyond Silos: Proactively identify and engage senior stakeholders across functions and organisations in a complex environment to drive alignment on future ways of working, overcome organisational friction and secure global process simplification and standardisation.
  • Stream Delivery & Interim Ownership: Step in dynamically to support or lead specific workstreams and strategic projects on an ad-hoc basis during critical execution phases or resource gaps.
  • Strategic Ad‑Hoc Initiatives: Lead high-priority strategic assignments across different domains, regions and functional teams, alongside the Pillar Leader, as the program evolves.
Candidate Profile & Qualifications

Core experience and background:

  • 5-8+ years of professional experience in management consulting, strategic project management or internal corporate transformation.
  • Experience within complex and large B2B organisations, preferably within aerospace, aviation or distribution/logistics is preferred.
  • Proven track record of participating in or leading complex multi-stream projects such as large-scale transformations, operating model redesigns or major ERP rollouts.
Work style and mindset
  • Proactive self-starter and accountability: high degree of ownership. Ability to define a clear path, anticipate requirements and push tasks to completion.
  • Strategic and structured delivery: Exceptional ability to translate complex ambitions into clear, highly structured roadmaps and actionable steps.
  • Execution focus: a strong focus to drive tangible progress and close deliverables, maintaining momentum even when information is not complete.
  • Collaboration and solution mindset: strong focus on collaboration beyond organisational boundaries, with a drive to find common solutions.
Communication and Stakeholder Management
  • Exceptional communication skills with a demonstrated ability to demystify complex concepts and create executive-ready presentations and decision decks.
  • Proven capability to influence senior leaders, negotiate trade-offs, navigate organisational resistance and facilitate tough cross‑functional alignment decisions.
  • Fluent English is mandatory - good command of French or German is a plus.
Technical and Domain acumen
  • Solid understanding of fit‑to‑standard deployment approaches and ERP systems.
  • Good domain knowledge of at least two of our core streams (Finance, Compliance, S&O) and their underlying processes and complexities.
  • Mastery of structured project management and business process mapping methodologies (lean, agile, PMP, etc).
  • Excellent analytical capabilities, able to translate complex data into clear strategic recommendations.
