Job summary

Vestas is seeking a Project Manager to oversee end‑to‑end verification of prototype wind turbines within the Turbine, Software & Component Testing group. You will coordinate across design, testing, and operations to ensure readiness for manufacturing, driving performance and cost improvements.

You will manage budgets, use SAP PPM, Power BI and Excel for reporting, and collaborate with site teams and external partners in Denmark and beyond. Fluency in English is required.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5–7 years of direct project management in technical/operational environments.
• Experience with on-site activities and construction/test sites.
• Clear communication with technicians, engineers, suppliers and leadership.
• Experience using SAP PPM, Power BI, Cplace, and Microsoft Office.

• Oversee complete verification lifecycle of prototype turbines and ensure quality, performance and cost targets.
• Collaborate with design, testing, operations and management across multiple sites.
• Manage project budgets, planning, and data analysis with SAP, Excel; report via Power BI.
• Ensure transparency through SAP, Excel, Power BI, SharePoint and risk tools; familiarity with CPlace or JIRA.
• Provide leadership to cross‑functional teams and drive portfolio execution.
• Continuously improve PM processes for repeatable, efficient delivery.

In Turbine, Software & Component Testing, we play a vital role in Vestas' progress. We ensure that new turbine designs are thoroughly tested, verified, and ready for manufacturing before market introduction. This requires technical insight, close collaboration, and a project manager who thrives at the intersection of people, hardware, and execution.

We are looking for a Project Manager to oversee end-to-end verification of prototype wind turbines. In this role, you will act as the unifying force across design, testing, operations, and management.

Responsibilities

• As Project Manager, you will be responsible for the complete verification lifecycle of prototype turbines. Your work will directly influence performance, quality, reliability, and cost efficiency across the turbine's entire lifecycle and you will Manage end-to-end verification of prototype turbines, covering new technologies, performance improvements, cost-out initiatives, and quality enhancements
• Work with internal and external partners to increase the use of prototype turbines and test facilities, mainly in Denmark and sometimes in other countries
• Manage project budgets and track finances in SAP, handle planning and data analysis with advanced Excel skills, and create straightforward reports in Power BI
• Ensure full transparency through structured use of SAP, Excel, Power BI, SharePoint sites, and risk management tools, experience in CPlace or JIRA
• Act as the primary point of contact for long‑term planning with designers and solution owners, while involved in day‑to‑day operations with site teams
• Provide indirect leadership to cross‑functional project teams and manage the operational project portfolio
• Continuously develop and improve project management processes to ensure structured, repeatable execution and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Hold an engineering degree (e.g. Maritime, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil) or have equivalent practical experience
• Have 5-7 years of direct project management experience in technical or operational environments involving on‑site activities
• Are comfortable working close to operations‑engaging with construction or test sites ("gloves on, dirt on shoes")
• Communicate effectively with technicians, engineers, suppliers, customers and senior leadership
• Have experience using SAP PPM, Power BI, Cplace, and the Microsoft Office Suite
• Demonstrate effective stakeholder management skills and the ability to collaborate across functions and organizational levels
• Are fluent in English, both written and spoken

• Skilled in planning, prioritizing, and budgeting, with a commitment to delivering high-quality work on time
• Ability to translate complex technical topics into clear, actionable decision support
• Experience building productive connections across cultures, departments, and leadership levels
• Demonstrated experience leading without formal line authority in cross‑functional environments
• Capability to build operational maturity initiatives that support long‑term competitiveness
• Solid financial understanding of budgeting, cost tracking, and forecasting.
• Own car is required, as day trips to Danish test sites are expected few times per month
