Job summary

MSL Engineering Ltd. is seeking a Project Engineer (Mechanical) with a strong background in piping systems, isometrics, and P&IDs to lead site coordination for complex projects in Mainland Europe.

The role reports to the Project Manager and requires close collaboration with Area Engineers and the Construction Manager. The candidate should have a minimum of 7 years of mechanical experience and hold a relevant engineering degree, with excellent communication and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Understand and implement the full MSL scope of work.
• Report to the Project Manager on progress and issues.
• Support safety and quality policy adherence on site.
• Provide technical backup to Area Engineers to resolve queries.
• Coordinate with the Construction Manager to monitor schedules.
• Prioritize off-site pipe and support fabrication to follow construction timelines.
• Coordinate onsite between Mechanical and other disciplines.
• Attend weekly progress meetings and prepare client reports.
• Monitor scope vs. on-site work and flag potential out-of-scope activities.
• Ensure MSL supply equipment is ordered as required.
• Coordinate with Consultants/PSCS/CMT and Contractor.
• Work with offsite fabrication team to align project activity.
• Oversee piping systems handover to client per schedule.
• Maintain piping isometrics and P&IDs accuracy.

Role: Project Engineer (Mechanical)

Responsibilities

• Must have full understanding of complete MSL scope of work.
• You will be reporting to the Project Manager
• Adherence to and promotion of company safety and quality policies
• Supporting Area Engineers as required, and providing any necessary technical back up, to resolve engineering queries in the field
• Work with MSL Construction Manager to monitor the construction schedule
• Prioritising off-site pipe and support fabrication to follow construction schedule
• Onsite co-ordination between Mechanical and other Disciplines
• Weekly Progress Reporting to client and MSL Project Manager (MSL template), co-ordinating of Area Engineers progress reporting per area to support this
• Weekly Variation reporting (Gathering this info from the area engineers to give it to MSL QS / Cost Engineer)
• Monitor MSL Scope of Work, and potential out-of-scope work on site
• Ensure MSL supply equipment is ordered as required
• Onsite co-ordination between Consultant / PSCS / CMT and Contractor
• Co-ordination of project activity in conjunction with the offsite fabrication team
• Attend weekly progress meetings
• Safety audits and monitoring safety performance on site
• Working with MSL QA Lead to ensure piping systems are handed over to client on schedule
• Excellent knowledge of piping isometrics and P&IDs is essential

• Minimum 7 years Mechanical Experience
• Relevant engineering degree
• Hold excellent technical knowledge of mechanical systems and products
• Excellent communication and reporting skills
