Job summary

TimeLog is seeking a Quality Engineer to build testing capabilities and QA practices from the ground up. This role focuses on establishing standards and a product-engineering mindset to enable quality throughout development, including automation across web apps and APIs, non-functional testing, and migration validation.

You will lead hands-on testing work and strategic direction, collaborating with development teams to ensure quality is built in from the start, with significant autonomy.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with end-to-end test automation using frameworks like Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or similar tools.
• Strong knowledge of API testing approaches and tools for REST services.
• Deep understanding of test design principles including test pyramids, coverage strategies, and risk-based testing.
• Proven experience building test infrastructure and automation frameworks from scratch.

Responsibilities

• Design and build automated end-to-end test suites for web apps and APIs using modern frameworks like Playwright.
• Establish and evangelize testing standards and patterns across Product Development teams.
• Develop a comprehensive regression testing strategy to ensure release confidence while minimizing test execution time.
• Decide what to automate vs. manual testing to maximize bug detection per effort invested.
• Ensure migration quality for customer data from legacy to the cloud-native platform and perform end-to-end validation.
