Job description

Are you passionate about using modelling and simulation to turn complex pharma engineering questions into data-based insights?

Who We Are

We are a leading pharma engineering company shaping the future of API pharma engineering globally. Leveraging the expertise of 2,000+ employees across Denmark, India, and the US, we design, build and optimise pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities that are essential to the health and well-being of patients everywhere.

Our success is driven by passion, innovation, and collaboration — with our customers and across our teams and disciplines. If you share our dedication to a noble cause and our passion for API pharma engineering, then NNE is the place for you.

About The Role

We are looking for motivated Process Modelling & Simulation Engineers to join our growing team in Early Simulation Insights as part of our Process Systems Intelligence area. In this role, you will help establish a data-based foundation for early decision‑making in API facility projects by modelling and simulating process alternatives, utility needs and process‑space impacts.

Early Simulation Insights is a team of engineers, students and specialists working with process, utility and process‑space modelling and simulation. Our work primarily takes place before typical pharma project phases such as Conceptual Design and Basic Design, where early insights can guide direction before key design decisions are locked.

Whether you are a recent graduate or an industry professional with a focus on mathematical modelling and simulation of process/flowsheet alternatives, this role offers a unique opportunity to interject and apply theory for Good‑Engineering Practice, in order to have a real business impact. You’ll play a key role in close collaboration with customers and our Specialists to identify and evaluate relevant process configurations.

Examples of our project offerings span from small‑scale API development and pilot facilities to full‑scale manufacturing plants, supporting our customers to make timely and informed decisions.

How You Might Spend Your Days

As a Process Modelling & Simulation Engineer, you’ll be:

  • Developing and preparing process simulation scenarios to support early consultancy and data‑based decisions for state‑of‑the‑art API facilities.
  • Translating customer input and process data into relevant modelling and simulation options in close collaboration with senior process specialists.
  • Evaluating process configurations, capacity, bottlenecks, utilities and process‑space impacts through simulation.
  • Working closely with customers, senior specialists and other simulation engineers to identify and assess relevant scenarios.
  • Participating in alignment sessions with customers, Early Simulation Insights and colleagues across Process Systems Intelligence.
Who You Are

We care about who you are as a person. In the end, how you work, and your energy is what impacts the results we achieve as a team. As a person, you are:

  • Curious and motivated to build new knowledge continuously.
  • Open‑minded, solution‑oriented and interested in developing new ways of working and in building new capabilities.
  • Structured in your approach and able to translate complex problems into clear analyses.
  • Comfortable working both independently and together with colleagues across disciplines.
  • Having a strong customer understanding and consulting mindset.
What You Bring To The Role

In all positions, there are some things that are preferred, and others, a bonus. If you do not meet all the qualifications listed below, you are welcome to offer alternative experience that you think would be valuable in this role:

  • A degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, process systems engineering or similar, preferably with a focus on modelling and simulation.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience, ideally from pharmaceutical, life science manufacturing, food production or another process industry.
  • Experience with process modelling and simulation, preferably including tools such as INOSIM, MATLAB, Aspen, DWSIM, Python or similar.
  • An interest in applying theory to real engineering challenges and translating simulation results into practical recommendations.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English; Danish language skills are an advantage.
